Support Ashton on July 24th!
LOCK HAVEN — Eagle Scout and Mental Health Awareness Advocate, Ashton Peters will hold a 3rd Annual walk for su***de awareness in memory of Cimarron and Benjamin Thomas on July 24 at Riverview Park, in Lock Haven.
Ashton’s goal for the walk is to bring community awareness to an increasing global problem. The walk is in memory of Cimarron Thomas, who lost her life a little over three years ago at the age of 12; and Benjamin Thomas, Cimarron’s father, who also passed by su***de a year after. Benjamin Thomas was a veteran and Sergeant in the U.S Army.
Ashton works closely with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, which is the nation’s largest non-profit dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by su***de; and 22-Too Many, an organization based out of Maryland that honors and remembers military members who have lost their lives to su***de or PTS at the rate of over 20 per day.
The public is encouraged to attend the event to bring awareness to su***de. Various vendors and organizations are taking part in the walk this year.
Ashton hopes to raise $5,000 for the American Foundation For Su***de Prevention.
New for the 2022 walk, is a dunk tank. You will have the opportunity to Dunk PA State, Rep. Stephanie Borowicz. The cost is $5 per chance.
A Silent Auction will also be held along with special speakers, games, and music. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All money raised will be donated to an AFSP Rep on the day of the walk.
T-Shirts for the event can be bought at Rachel K. Creations or on the day of the walk.
