Big thank you to Club Carwash for partnering with Midway ISD to donate $1 back to our district for every $5 car wash this weekend August 28 (Friday) thru August 30 (Sunday) at any Waco location!

🎲🚂 On the Right Track!
Learning looks a lot like play at Castleman Creek Elementary thanks to the On the Right Track grant, named in honor of Bowman Consulting Group!

Christine Pyron’s students put classroom skills into action through games like Monopoly and Ticket to Ride using math, strategic thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and even connecting what they learned about the expansion of railroads across America.
The best sign it was a hit? Students were asking their parents to buy the games so they could teach their families how to play at home! ❤️

This hands-on approach gave 85 students the opportunity to practice important academic and social skills while learning to work together, think critically, and be good sports.

🪑✨ Flexible Seating for Flexible Thinkers!

Thanks to a grant named in honor of DuBois Furniture, Brandie Wright’s students at Hewitt Elementary discovered that learning doesn’t have to look the same for everyone!
From wobble stools and bouncy ball chairs to floor seating and a standing desk, students had the opportunity to try different seating options and discover what helped them learn best.

Some loved to wiggle, some preferred to stand, and some decided a traditional chair was still their favorite and that was exactly the point!

The result? More choice, a little independence, and greater engagement during both whole-group and small-group instruction. Even better, these flexible seating options will continue serving students for years to come.

As Brandie shared, “I loved seeing my students shine even brighter.” ❤️🐾
