The next lodge meeting will be held on March 23, 2026 and will feature Race Fisher from Norway House in Minneapolis. He will be introducing our lodge to what Norway House has to offer and highlighting the recently opened Saga Center. The center provides an immersive experience starting with Norwegian immigration to America as well as the culture and various aspects of our Norwegian heritage.
The meeting will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 221 Lockwood St., Woodville, WI.
Social Hour begins at 6:00 PM with the program at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend.

Tom Gunderson shared his watercolor art at our local Sons of Norway meeting this month. We enjoyed hearing about his artistic journey and listening to his many funny stories. One of his stories involved sharing his hobby with a group of church kids who were misbehaving. He used his 6th grade teaching experience to get them all calmed down and dispossessed of their spit balls. 🤣🤣

Food was the highlight of the day today at the Syttende Mai celebration in Woodville. Valkyrien Lodge members made sweet treats including cookies, almond cake, and rommegrot and also served polse sausage on lefse. Sisters, Jean Peterson and Judy Jones from Hammond, were a hot attraction as people waited in line for their delicious lefse hot off the grill. One lady said that she needed some rommegrot. When teasingly challenged whether she needed it or wanted it, she replied, “I need it, I want it, and I demand it!”
