As we say goodbye to 5 Library Lane and our beloved “book barn,” The Friends are looking forward to the new era at 10 Dixon Ave. Stay tuned for the grand opening of our Bookstore on the 2nd floor of the new library. We look back fondly on the last year at the old library and want to say thanks to everyone in our community who volunteered and supported the 94th Anniversary Woodstock Library Fair.

THE FRIENDS of the Woodstock Library honor Chris Collins on SATURDAY JULY 26, 1:45PM at the 94th Anniversary Woodstock Library Fair for his years of service to Woodstock.

Chris is a man of many talents and passions. A gifted nature photographer, his work has been exhibited at the Woodstock Artists Association, capturing the quiet beauty of the world around us. He’s also someone who was brave—or perhaps crazy—enough to serve on the Woodstock Town Board, bringing dedication and heart to civic life.
But many of us know Chris as the founder of one of Woodstock’s most unique and joyful events: the Woodstock Comedy Festival. With proceeds going to support survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, the festival blended humor with heart—proving that laughter can truly be a force for good.

THE FRIENDS of the Woodstock Library honor Gary “Dr. Know” Miller, SATURDAY JULY 26, 3:45PM at the 94th Anniversary Woodstock Library Fair for his contributions to the art & culture of Woodstock and beyond. Doc, the guitarist for Bad Brains, who were critically acclaimed for their innovative musical style and are regarded as one of the greatest and most influential punk bands of all time, was born in Washington, DC and is a longtime & beloved Ulster County community member. Dr. Know also has recorded with Mos Def's rock musical project Black Jack Johnson, which was named after the boxing champion.
