Join the Rauch Foundation for a preview screening of the film 'How to Feed the Planet.'

A follow-up to last year’s screening of Until the End of the World, How to Feed the Planet is an epic journey through space and time exploring one of the most pressing questions of our era: how can we feed the planet a healthy diet, with a global population projected to reach nearly 10 billion and natural resources already under strain from human activity?

From Ukraine to the Congo, via Argentina, moving through food systems, diets, lobbying forces, and farming communities, How to Feed the Planet reveals how some of the greatest conflicts of our time are driven not only by the race for oil and rare earths, but also by the struggle to control land and food resources. A global journalistic investigation in search of answers – starting with the right questions.

A post-film panel will follow.

When: Wednesday, June 10th, 7-9 PM
Where: Billings Farm & Museum theater

There's still time to save a seat for our screening of 'The Little Things that Run the World' tomorrow!

The Little Things that Run the World will introduce us to a diverse group of scientists, nature lovers, gardeners, farmers, and general bug enthusiasts in exploring the importance of flying insects amid rapid declines in their numbers. This most numerous group of animals on the planet by far—three quarters of all species—have also been called the "glue of life" on Earth. They literally hold ecosystems together.

The film documents the mysteries of the declines alongside creative and heroic human efforts to change the course of evolutionary history. What is causing this extinction crisis? What can be done to reverse the trend?

Following the film screening we will have a panel discussion with Desiree Narango and Amber Jones of the Vermont Center of Ecostudies, Stephanie Reger of Wilde Bee Farm, and Abbie Castriotta of CRAFT who runs our local native plant sale.

Thursday June 4th, 5:30-8 PM. Billings Farm & Museum
