Parker James Anderson Foundation

Parker James Anderson Foundation Our Mission: To offer comfort and better the lives of families who have had a child born in to the N On February 15, 2016 we held him and said goodbye.

This foundation was formed to honor the life of our son, Parker James Anderson, who changed our lives in the 18 days he was with us. Lindsey was 25 weeks pregnant, on January 29 she suffered complications and they had to do an emergency C-section. Parker was born 15 weeks early, weighing only 1 pound 1 ounce. He was so tiny when he was born that his eyelids were actually still fused shut. He had a

really good first week and was progressing wonderfully and opened his eyes for the first time. During the second week of Parker's life, the complications started. They discovered that he had a blockage in his intestines and wasn't able to pass anything. Due to his size they weren't able to do surgery on him until he reached 3 pounds. Due to the blockage, other issues started to rise including kidney failure. Parker fought hard for 18 days but was unable to overcome his many obstacles. From that day we knew that we would spend the rest of our lives honoring him and helping families that are in the same situation that we experienced.

100% of proceeds donated to the foundation will go directly to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Units and toward bettering the lives of families with a baby in the NICU.

A huge thank you to Ryan Cobb for cooking an amazing meal for the parents at the NICU tonight! What a treat for the families to be able to relax for a few minutes and enjoy a meal cooked by an executive chef. I had only met Ryan one time when I asked if he was interested in cooking and he said yes without hesitation.

For Parker.

One year ago today was the scariest and greatest day of our lives as we became parents to a precious 1.1 pound baby boy, Parker James. We may have only been parents for a total of 18 days, but those 18 days changed our lives forever. We might not have the joy of throwing your typical birthday party every year and celebrating the milestones that most parents do but it's important that we celebrate the 18 days we had with him. We spoke with our friends at the NICU this week and as a way to honor Parker, and to thank the staff that took such great care of him, we are going to have a celebration at the NICU on February 19 for the nursing staff. We will be feeding 65 team members that day. Then, on February 21 we are going to provide dinner in the NICU for the parents that currently have babies in the unit. Where i need your help, is to help cover the costs of the meals. What I am asking is to get as many people as we can to donate $18 over the next 18 days. If we can get 40 people to donate we will be able to provide a great meal to the staff and families. Any money left over will be donated to the NICU. You can donate here on the FB page or on PayPal using [email protected]. Thank you all for your continued support!

We are really excited to be partnering with the Hotlanta Half Marathon on June 11! We will be running a water station in return of a very generous donation that we will gladly hand over to our friends at Scottish Rite. Thank you to Rachel Langelotti for thinking of us. We need a minimum of 10 people to run the station and we have 6 so far. Let us know if you are interested.

Thank you to family, friends and the Sawnee Showdown runners and sponsors we were able to drop off a nice check to our two favorite people at the hospital this morning. This year we have been able to donate $5,750 to CHOA, cook a meal for parents at the NICU, and cover hotel expenses for a family who had to take a baby out of state. We are short of our goal but the hospital has assured us they are able to order the white boards. This is only the beginning of this journey. Lindsey and I can't thank you enough for everything! We love you all and Merry Christmas.
