After many trips to the doctors (then refeared us to a Nurologist-which then we were on a 5+ month waiting list to even get us in )and urgent care because Katelyn had been falling down, not walking stright at home and school and was not acting her normal self. After the final visit to the doctor and telling the doc that there is is no way Katelyn has the flu and there has to be something else goin
g on. On March 5 Katelyn was admited to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite. Where she got a CT and MRI to discover she had a Brain Tumor and a tremendous amout of fluid too. The Neurosurgeon said he would need to do a biopsy to learn more and to put a drain in so the fluid and pressure can be controlled. So then surgery was scheduled for March 13th to try to remove as much of the tumor at possible, they were able to remove 95% of it. That Thursday and Friday she was doing a lot of moving and waking up
On March 21st Katelyn had a small set back and had to be sedated and paralyzed (medically done) because her left lung collapsed and she had a air around her heart Radiation was schedules to begin on April 13th..5 days a week for 6 weeks with weekends off then soon after Chemo.
