TS is a variable condition and every girl and woman with TS is unique and no generalization will apply to everyone, no matter how accurate it is for the group. The majority of those with TS are healthy and well adjusted; some face specific physical, emotional, social or learning challenges. All benefit from proper medical care, emotional support and careful screening for related conditions. The creation of a health care team is important and YOU are a vital part of it. Turner syndrome (TS) is a chromosomal condition that describes girls and women with common features that are caused by complete or partial absence of the second s*x chromosome. The syndrome is named after Dr. Henry Turner, who was among the first to describe its features in the 1930's.
