Club 86300 Queensborough West Queensborough West is a Rotary Club of Dist. 7255. and serves the nearby communities of Woodside, Sunnyside, Maspeth and Elmhurst.

We are a non profit inviting community service minded folk to join us as we help create a better world for everyone. Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. We are a Rotary Club based in New York City, USA. We

are called the Queensborough West Rotary Club and we belong to Rotary International District 7255, in the state of New York. Many of our members are Filipinos. Our Club here in the US is looking to make an impact in nearby local communities particularly in the areas of Literacy and Health Assistance. As a way of paying it forward, our club also seeks to assist select elementary public schools throughout the third world, by meeting their needs particularly in the areas of providing basic learning supplies, developing a library, and improving toilet/rest room facilities, providing water supply, all with sustainability as a focus. We seek service-hearted individuals to join our Club. We would also be interested in projects that you may know of which we can assist you with locally or overseas. We invite you to be part of a network of giving: giving of time, talent, wisdom, expertise. We invite you to be part of a network of kindness.

EARTH WIND FIRE WATER
💔 A Community in Crisis — and a Call for Help 💔

Efforts are now underway to support two neighboring hamlets in Cebu, Philippines, where families have endured a relentless chain of disasters that has left them with almost nothing to rebuild from.

Our club has launched an urgent relief initiative to help 60 households — more than 320 people — with special focus on the immediate neighborhood of our fellow Rotarian Apple Basa, whose own family home was among those destroyed.

🔥 First came the fire.
Late in 2024, a massive blaze swept through Cansojong, reducing an entire street — including Mary’s home — to ashes.

🌊 Then came the earthquake.
In September 2025, a magnitude 6.7 earthquake tore the ground open. Tsunami-like waves crashed into coastal homes and shops, destroying fishing boats and swallowing entire livelihoods.

🌧️ And now, the floods.
Just this November, powerful rains and winds battered Dumlog and Cansojong. Muddy floodwaters surged to rooftop height, sweeping away animals, cars, trees, and even electric poles. Families escaped with only the clothes they were wearing. Their homes are unrecognizable. Their future feels uncertain.

Yet through it all, their spirit remains — fragile, but unbroken.

🙏 We are asking for your help.
These families are facing unimaginable loss. Many have no clean water, no shelter, no food supplies, and no means to rebuild without outside support. Every donation — no matter the size — becomes a lifeline.

Let us come together and help these communities rise again.

Aug 30th!
A beautiful in-between Summer-Fall kind of day was a collaboration of activities with under the guidance of Park chief Noel Gamboa. Queensborough West members held its meet-the-DG at the Park and had a meaty conversation with DG Lydia Wells with Rich Wells. AG Michael was also a resource person.
