The Monroe County Dog Pound is raffling off a steel sided muddy blind, details on what is included are listed on the flyer.

Each ticket is $40 and there will only be 250 tickets sold. ALL proceeds go to the dog pound to help care for our furry friends!

If you are interested contact Deputy Brock Jones or the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

As always we appreciate our community and all the support, all the dogs who pass through our doors do as well! 🐶

Come out to Tractor Supply in Woodsfield to support your favorite K-9s from 10 a.m. until sold out. Bags of the K-9s’ favorite food will be available for purchase, along with delicious desserts and hot dogs with sauce.

The Monroe FOP Lodge 216 gives out thoughts and prayers to the fallen deputy from Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and Deputy Sherrer’s family. Thank you for your service and we have it from here brother!

Statement from Morrow County Sheriff John L. Hinton on Fallen Deputy

Morrow County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Daniel Weston Sherrer was killed in the line of duty on May 26, 2025 while responding to a domestic situation.

Daniel was 31 years old and joined the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office on May 16, 2021. He is survived by his parents and numerous loved ones.

The Sheriff’s Office is grateful for the outpouring of support from our community and fellow law enforcement officers across the state and country. Our county is a closely-tied community which has always supported its law enforcement agencies and that backing is evident during this time of grief. The many expressions of thoughts and prayers for the Sherrer family and our office are greatly appreciated.

Funeral arrangements will be announced once finalized.
