Collecting in Walkersville and Woodsboro this Saturday!

Scouts are usually out Scouting for Food in our communities for food donations at this time of year. But this is no normal year.

Our helpers at Glade Valley Community Services (GVCS - http://www.gladevalley.org/) are doing their best to meet our needs. Through the Glade Valley Food Bank, they realize their mission "to meet the needs of families and individuals in the Walkersville, Woodsboro and surrounding Glade Valley area of Frederick County, MD through the coordination of donations of time, talent, money and other resources."

In Scouting, we pledge an oath to help other people at all times and to do our duty to our country, our community. GVCS works to keep our community healthy. To support our mission and theirs, we call on your support with donations of non-perishable food items to restock our local food bank. No offering is too large or small and is sure to make an impact.

Scouts BSA Troops 1070B/G and 1011B will be out this SATURDAY 11/14 from 9 AM - 1 PM to accept your drop-off donations:

Walkersville - Safeway Parking Lot
Woodsboro - Trout's Market Parking Lot

Our members will be practicing physical distancing and will be wearing face masks. Rest assured that we're also wearing big smiles in response to your generosity. As a community, working together, we can make a difference. Thank you for your support!

This Saturday, the National Park Service will provide FREE ADMISSION to all national parks for (NPLD) —the nation's biggest annual celebration of the great outdoors. Established by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) in 1994, NPLD encourages environmental stewardship and the use of public lands for education, recreation, inspiration and general health and wellness.
