Jacob A. Scheible Memorial Golf Outing

Hello friends, family and supporters! Our treasurer has confirmed that donations have nearly eclipsed $8,000 for 2025, even without the golf event! We are humbled by your continued generosity and here's why it matters: 2024 Jacob A. Scheible Golf Scholarship recipient Matt Haggart. We are so proud of Matt's success, on and off the course.

🏆🥈👏🏼We want to congratulate Matt Haggart on finishing 2nd place recently at the State Open qualifying held at Eau Claire CC. He shot 72 in a field of 88. Matt will compete Aug 18-20 in Kohler at Blackwolf Run in the State Open with 90 of the best golfers in the state. Matt is currently an Assistant Golf Professional here at Timber Ridge Golf Club Minocqua and will be soon heading to Madison Tech for his sophomore season where he plays on the golf team. Great achievement, Matt!!!! ⛳️

Our fourth and final round for Jacob is in the books. It was a beautiful day on the course and Jacob was smiling down upon us all. As a bonus this year, we were treated to playoff golf to determine the overall winner (breaking a tie between two teams - past and present members of Lakeland Union High School golf program). What an exciting finish!

As in each of the previous three years, the support was absolutely incredible. Have you ever seen so many hole sponsor signs?!?! Thank you to all the golfers, raffle donors, volunteers, staff at Trout Lake Golf Club and (once again) our benevolent sponsors. Because of you, our mission to grant annual scholarships to area youth and fund the Junior Golf Program at Trout Lake Golf Club will continue for (potentially) decades to come.

The Lakeland Union Thunderbirds are the 2024 WIAA D2 Boys Golf Team State Champions! Matthew Haggart and Jack Rubo - senior members of the team golf team - were each awarded the Jacob A. Scheible Golf Memorial Scholarship at the awards presentation at LUHS on Wednesday, May 22nd. Congratulations Matthew and Jack!
