The Rotary Club of Woodland

The Rotary Club of Woodland The Rotary Club of Woodland is the original Rotary club in Woodland, founded in 1926. We are celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2026!

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 30,000 Rotary clubs. Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's bus

iness and professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Service has kept our Rotarians busy —and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

From "serving" above self at the Rotary Beer Booth during the Yolo County Fair, to supporting the Salvation Army Child Spree, our members have enjoyed plenty of opportunities to serve together and strengthen our community.

A few Rotarians even “chipped” in with the Woodland Tree Foundation by spreading mulch—and, of course, our weekly Meals on Wheels deliveries continue throughout Woodland.

As the Rotary Club of Woodland celebrates 100 years of service, we are working toward completing 101 Acts of Service. Every act—big or small—can make a lasting difference, and we would love to hear from you!

Do you know of a community need or have an idea for a future Act of Service? Visit www.woodlandrotary.org to submit your idea and help us continue serving Woodland for the next 100 years.

We were honored to welcome Rotary District 5160 Governor Woody Fridae to the Rotary Club of Woodland this past week!

Governor Woody shared updates from Rotary International, brought us the latest news and events from across Rotary District 5160 and challenged our club in service by supporting the remarkable LN-4 Hand Project, which provides free prosthetic hands to people in need around the world.

He also recognized two Rotarians for their service, including Angela Lynn for her behind-the-scenes support of our club and legacy Rotarian Don Huff III, who received an additional Paul Harris Fellow pin in recognition of his continued support of The Rotary Foundation.

Thank you, Governor Woody, for joining us and reminding us of the difference Rotarians can make—both here at home and around the world. Now, let's set out to Create Lasting Impact!

🍻 Want to meet a few Woodland Rotarians and learn more about Rotary? Come see us at the Yolo County Fair! We’ll be pouring cold brews August 7 through August 16. Stop by, say hello and ask us about Rotary. Answers are free!

🏆 What an incredible honor!

The Rotary Club of Woodland is humbled to be recognized as Rotary District 5160's Club of the Year, receiving the Cliff Dochterman "Spirit of Rotary" Award.

While our club accepted the award, this recognition belongs to every Rotarian who gave their time, talents, and heart in service throughout the 2025–2026 Rotary year.

Our Centennial Celebration, 100 Acts of Service, support of ShelterBox, and countless community projects were only possible because of the dedication of our members—and the collaboration of all three Rotary clubs in Woodland.

A special thank you to our 2025–2026 President, Aniek Pflager, whose humble leadership helped guide a strong start to our Centennial year, and to everyone who made this recognition possible. Thank you as well to District Governor Joy Alaidarous for this incredible honor.

Most of all, thank you to every Rotarian who continues to live Service Above Self. 💙💛
