💻 Meet Yolo Philanthropy Award Honoree Barbara Vohryzek!

Barbara has spent the past two years helping iDream turn technology into opportunity.

Through her volunteer service, she tracks expenses, screens applicants, assesses individual needs, and works directly with recipients of refurbished Apple devices. At each gifting, she provides hands-on training to help recipients use their computers for college, employment, and personal advancement.

Her work has helped make possible 50 gifts in 2025 and 60 gifts in 2026.

Barbara also plays a key role in iDream’s UC Davis internship program and recently helped create a partnership that resulted in 31 Apple computers being gifted to students with financial needs.

Her impact goes beyond providing technology—she helps create pathways to education, employment, and opportunity. 🌟

Congratulations, Barbara!

💙Meet Yolo Philanthropy Award Honoree Jennifer Engstrom!

Jennifer Engstrom has been a dedicated supporter of Yolo Food Bank since joining its Finance Committee in 2019. Drawing on 25 years of banking experience, Jennifer has served as board treasurer for four years and now begins her term as board chair.
Together with her husband, Matthew, Jennifer also gives back through their West Sacramento Grocery Outlet, supporting local organizations with food, clothing, hygiene, and financial donations.

Jennifer’s commitment to Yolo Food Bank was especially evident through this year’s Farm-to-Fairway Golf Tournament, where she helped recruit one-third of all golfers and brought three teams to the event.

Their Grocery Outlet also raised funds for Yolo Food Bank through the Independence from Hunger campaign, supporting the Family Food Box program in West Sacramento.

We are proud to honor Jennifer for her leadership, generosity, and longstanding commitment to strengthening her community. 💙

🥗 Meet Yolo Philanthropy Award Honoree Celebrating Walt!

Walt began volunteering at Mosaic West Sac in 2021, at a time when the pandemic created an unprecedented need for volunteers. Since then, he has become one of the organization’s most reliable and dedicated volunteers.

Three days a week, Walt packs and delivers food bags to residents in transitional housing—more than 200 bags every week. But his impact goes far beyond the numbers. Walt brings a positive attitude to everything he does and is always looking for another way to help.

Whether he’s packing food, making deliveries, or pitching in wherever he’s needed, Walt can be counted on to show up and give his best.

💫We are proud to honor Walt for his compassion, dependability, and genuine commitment to serving others. His consistent dedication has made a meaningful difference for the people and community he serves.

💙 Meet Yolo Philanthropy Award Honoree Cindy!

Cindy embodies the true spirit of local service. A retired Navy veteran and longtime West Sacramento resident, she dedicates more than five hours each week to supporting older adults across Yolo County.

Over the past year and a half, Cindy has contributed more than 350 volunteer hours for Meals on Wheels Yolo County in West Sacramento and Woodland. As a Meal Connection Greeter, Route Delivery Driver, and Café Yolo host, she brings compassion and connection to every interaction. She also trains new volunteers and helps community leaders better understand the importance of this work.

What makes Cindy truly special is the heart she brings to her service. Seniors, and their pets, light up when she arrives. With a warm smile and treats for every dog, Cindy builds meaningful relationships with homebound residents and brings joy to some of their hardest days.

We are proud to honor Cindy for her service, leadership, and compassionate spirit, and for the meaningful difference she makes in the lives of older adults throughout Yolo County. 💙
