The 2026-27 school year is here and for many children and their families, it's the beginning of their elementary school journey with their first days of TK or Kindergarten. For families looking for ways they can help support their child's love of reading and to build on the skills they are learning at school while they are at home, the Yolo County Library continues to offer their Family Literacy program to connect families with libraries and reading. "Family literacy is more than learning to read. It’s about creating meaningful moments through stories, conversations, songs, and everyday experiences that help children build language, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning."
