Meet Toby!

Toby is a ridiculously handsome four-year-old, 30 pound, Pembroke Welsh Corgi who has been waiting a very long time for his chance at happily ever after.
Toby came to us through a shelter after he was found to be heartworm positive. Heartworm treatment is not quick, and Toby has spent months going through everything needed to get him healthy. We are SO excited to finally say that he has completed treatment, has been cleared by his medical team, and is officially ready to find his forever home!
Now, if you know Corgis, you probably already have a pretty good idea of what Toby is like. He is smart, confident, energetic, affectionate, opinionated, occasionally convinced he is the manager of the household, and packed with approximately 75 pounds of personality in a much smaller body. He has those classic Corgi traits: he wants to be involved in everything, he knows what he wants, and he sees absolutely no reason why you should be doing anything without consulting him first.
Toby plays rough and loves even harder. He is an absolute sweetheart and a serious cuddle bug, but he also has plenty of energy and is looking for a family ready to have some fun with him. He isn’t looking to spend his next chapter quietly watching the world go by. He has places to be, things to investigate, and people to supervise.
When it comes to canine friends, Toby definitely has a type. He would do best with medium to large female dogs who can appreciate his enthusiastic style of play. The ladies are his preference, and he is not a big fan of sharing his kingdom with other male dogs.
After everything Toby has been through, we are looking for a home that will absolutely adore him. He has waited through heartworm treatment, followed the rules, gotten healthy, and is finally ready for the good part.
Toby is healthy, cleared, ready to go, and prepared to bring one very big Corgi personality into one very lucky home.
Now he just needs his person. Could that be you?
Toby is house trained, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, on flea, tick and heart worm prevention, neutered and so much more!
Please note at our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach. Our goal is to ensure that each pet is placed in a home that suits their needs and that the animal is the right fit for your lifestyle.
Please note that we are a foster-based rescue and do not operate a physical shelter. We are NOT the Yolo County Shelter or the Yolo County SPCA. For more information on the adoption process, please refer to the application, which contains all relevant information. Please email our adoption team at [email protected] if you have questions after you complete the application, we will keep this posting updated on her status as the process proceeds.
