Meet Toby!

Link to application: https://forms.gle/vHs8qaYtCoFDh4sa8

Toby is a ridiculously handsome four-year-old, 30 pound, Pembroke Welsh Corgi who has been waiting a very long time for his chance at happily ever after.

Toby came to us through a shelter after he was found to be heartworm positive. Heartworm treatment is not quick, and Toby has spent months going through everything needed to get him healthy. We are SO excited to finally say that he has completed treatment, has been cleared by his medical team, and is officially ready to find his forever home!

Now, if you know Corgis, you probably already have a pretty good idea of what Toby is like. He is smart, confident, energetic, affectionate, opinionated, occasionally convinced he is the manager of the household, and packed with approximately 75 pounds of personality in a much smaller body. He has those classic Corgi traits: he wants to be involved in everything, he knows what he wants, and he sees absolutely no reason why you should be doing anything without consulting him first.

Toby plays rough and loves even harder. He is an absolute sweetheart and a serious cuddle bug, but he also has plenty of energy and is looking for a family ready to have some fun with him. He isn’t looking to spend his next chapter quietly watching the world go by. He has places to be, things to investigate, and people to supervise.

When it comes to canine friends, Toby definitely has a type. He would do best with medium to large female dogs who can appreciate his enthusiastic style of play. The ladies are his preference, and he is not a big fan of sharing his kingdom with other male dogs.

After everything Toby has been through, we are looking for a home that will absolutely adore him. He has waited through heartworm treatment, followed the rules, gotten healthy, and is finally ready for the good part.

Toby is healthy, cleared, ready to go, and prepared to bring one very big Corgi personality into one very lucky home.

Now he just needs his person. Could that be you?

Toby is house trained, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, on flea, tick and heart worm prevention, neutered and so much more!

Please note at our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach. Our goal is to ensure that each pet is placed in a home that suits their needs and that the animal is the right fit for your lifestyle.

Please note that we are a foster-based rescue and do not operate a physical shelter. We are NOT the Yolo County Shelter or the Yolo County SPCA. For more information on the adoption process, please refer to the application, which contains all relevant information. Please email our adoption team at [email protected] if you have questions after you complete the application, we will keep this posting updated on her status as the process proceeds.

FOSTERS NEEDED — BIG DOGS, SMALL DOGS & KITTIES!

Got a couch? A spare room? A little extra love to give? We need YOU!

Yolo County Spay and Neuter Group is in need of foster homes in the Woodland/Davis area for:

Big dogs
Small dogs
Cats & kittens

We provide the food and all necessary medical care. You provide the safe, loving home they need while they wait for their forever family.

Fostering isn't always a quick process. Sometimes an animal finds their family right away, and sometimes it takes a while. But watching an animal go from needing a safe place to heading off to the perfect forever home is worth every single minute.

MOST URGENT RIGHT NOW: We need a foster home for TWO fully vetted kittens! They are ready to go into foster and just need someone willing to open their home to them.

College students — fostering can be a great option for you, too! If you would love to have a cat but aren't ready for the long-term commitment or financial responsibility of adopting, fostering gives you the chance to have a temporary companion while literally helping save a life. We provide the food and medical care while you provide the safe, loving home.

You don't have to pay for their food.
You don't have to pay their vet bills.
You just have to give them a safe place, patience, and love.

Every foster home we have means we're able to help another animal who needs us. Fosters truly save lives!

Woodland/Davis area
Dogs big & small + cats
Food & medical care provided

Please message or email us at [email protected] if you are interested in fostering — and PLEASE SHARE! Even if you can't foster right now, sharing this post may help us find the person who can.

The ugly truth about "free" TNR

We hear it every week:
“Can someone come trap these cats?”
"Why do I have to pay? These aren't my cats, I just feed them because I don't want them to starve."

We understand.
Most people don’t realize what goes into TNR they just think it should be “free” and that someone else can handle it.

But here’s the truth:
That “free” service you’re asking for?
It's only free to the person asking, never to the people doing the work.

Every trap, every can of food, every drop of gas costs someone. Appointment fees, Capstar, dewormer, tuna, cat food, gas, even puppy pads to line traps, none of it appears out of thin air.

Each “free” TNR job costs hundreds of dollars before we even count the hours of driving, feeding, cleaning, trapping, and returning.

And behind every “free” service are real people.
Volunteers washing soiled traps in their driveways.
Loading and unloading scared community cats before sunrise.
Skipping dinners and losing sleep to make sure those cats get trapped, fixed, vaccinated, and safely returned.

This isn’t a hobby it’s hard, messy, emotional, draining, real work.

“Free” doesn’t mean easy. It means someone else is paying the price.
Through their time.
Through their gas tank.
Through their weekend.
Through their heart.

So next time someone says, "Well, these aren't my cats", remember they aren't ours either. These cats didn't ask to be there. Someone let it get to this point, and now we can work together to make it right.

If you can’t trap, donate 💰.
If you can’t donate, share 📣.
If you can’t share, educate 📖.

Because, behind every "free" TNR is someone quietly spending their own time, money, and heart to make sure cats don't keep multiplying in silence.

Every cat matters. Every caretaker matters. Every dollar helps 🤟🏼🐈

Shared from

This is the truth, TNR costs $70 a cat just for the appointment- this doesn’t count our gas, time, food, equipment, etc. They also aren’t my cats, you feed them you’re responsible for their well being.

💕Meet the Real-Life Cartoon Cat Duo: Violet & Augustus (Gus-Gus)! 💕

Link to application: https://forms.gle/YpefFZr2K1d8Spku5

Have you ever looked at a cartoon cat and thought, “I wish that was a real cat”?

Well… apparently someone made TWO of them.

Meet Violet & Augustus (“Gus Gus”), a ridiculously adorable bonded pair of 2-year-old Persian/Persian mix siblings who genuinely look like living cartoon characters. Between the giant fluffy coats, expressive faces, and slightly ridiculous personalities, these two look like they walked straight out of an animated movie and into real life.

And somehow, their personalities are even sweeter than their faces.

Violet is a beautiful Persian girl who takes her job as your personal supervisor VERY seriously. Going to the kitchen? Violet is coming. Folding laundry? Violet will oversee operations. Sitting on the couch? Perfect — she was wondering when you were going to make yourself available.

She is sweet, goofy, affectionate, and happiest when she can simply be around her people. She loves being brushed, playing with her toys, and following her humans around like an extremely fluffy little shadow.

Augustus — better known as Gus Gus — is Violet’s handsome Persian-mix brother and a professional lounger with absolutely no plans to seek other employment.

His preferred sleeping position is stretched out on his back, preferably in a sunny spot, looking like he has had an exhausting day despite accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Gus Gus is affectionate, cuddly, chatty, and loves being with his people. He’ll happily tell you about his day, chase his favorite wand toys, and then dramatically flop down for another well-earned nap.

Together, these two are sweet, silly, fluffy little cartoon characters who just want to be wherever their people are.

Violet and Gus Gus have been together since the day they were born and share a very special bond. They are looking for their forever home TOGETHER — because some things simply come better as a matching set.

They do well with teens through seniors and are unbothered by cat friendly dogs. With proper, slow introductions.

Like any cats entering a new environment, Violet and Gus Gus will need a family willing to give them time to settle in, explore, and become comfortable at their own pace. Once they decide you’re their people, though, prepare to have two fluffy shadows following you around the house.

If you’ve been looking for affectionate companions with enormous personalities, hilarious expressions, and enough fluff to make your vacuum question its life choices… Violet & Gus Gus may be your perfect pair.

Two best friends. Two living cartoon characters. One forever home. Could it be yours?

Both Violet and Gus Gus are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for parasites. They are on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and have both combo tested negative.

At our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families rather than following a first-come, first-served approach. Our goal is to ensure each animal is placed in a home that meets their individual needs and that they are the right fit for your lifestyle.

Please note that we are a foster-based rescue and do not operate a physical shelter. We are NOT the Yolo County Shelter or the Yolo County SPCA.

For more information about our adoption process, please refer to the application, which contains all relevant information.

If you have questions after completing the application, please contact our adoption team at [email protected].

We will keep this posting updated as Violet & Gus Gus move through the adoption process.

ADOPTED

Meet Chicken Nugget

Link to Application: https://forms.gle/tkb64N1uLbr8Ggm5A

If you've ever dreamed of earning the love of a giant, fluffy teddy bear, Chicken Nugget is waiting to meet you.

At just 6 months old, this Golden Retriever mix (we suspect there's some Anatolian Shepherd in there, too!) already weighs around 55–60 pounds, and he's nowhere near finished growing. He's going to be a very big boy with an even bigger heart.

Chicken Nugget's story didn't start out easy. He and his brother were abandoned, but thanks to an incredible trainer who stepped in to save them, they got the second chance they deserved. For the past month and a half, Chicken Nugget has been thriving in a specialized foster home where he's been learning that people can be kind, life can be fun, and the world isn't such a scary place after all.

This handsome guy is incredibly sweet, but he isn't the type of dog who will instantly run into a stranger's arms without seeing another dog trust them first. He likes to take a little time to get to know new people, and honestly, that's part of what makes earning his trust so special. Watching him choose to snuggle into your side or bring you one of his favorite toys after he's decided you're his person is a feeling that's hard to describe. It's something you earn, and it's worth every second.

Chicken Nugget also needs another dog in his forever home—but not just any dog. His ideal sibling is a confident, playful, medium-to-large breed dog who can show him the ropes without trying to boss him around. He's learned so much from his foster siblings, and another balanced canine friend will help him continue building confidence.

Once you're in his circle, get ready for a world-class cuddle bug. Chicken Nugget loves to play, happily shares his toys, and thinks snuggling is an Olympic sport. He has the biggest puppy heart and just wants to be close to the people he trusts.

Now let's talk about his voice. Chicken Nugget didn't get the memo that he's only six months old. He has a deep bark, dramatic howls, and the occasional bay that will make you wonder if a hound dog secretly moved into your house. Because of this, he is absolutely not an apartment dog. He needs room to stretch his legs and a home where his impressive vocal talents won't make the neighbors file complaints.

Chicken Nugget has also been wonderful with cats. He happily coexists with them and has shown just how gentle he truly is. He currently spends part of his day fascinated by the goats at his foster home. Rather than trying to chase them, he'll simply sit and stare at them as if they're the greatest reality TV show ever created. We haven't had him directly interact with the goats, so we can't officially say how he'd do, but based on his personality, we're pretty convinced he wouldn't hurt a fly.

His future family should have experience with large breeds or shy dogs and understand that relationships take time. Chicken Nugget isn't looking for perfection—he's looking for patience, consistency, and people who are committed to helping him continue becoming the incredible dog he's meant to be.

As for motivation... well... it's right there in his name. Chicken nuggets are, without question, his favorite thing on Earth. If you happen to have one in your hand, congratulations—you've instantly become the most interesting person in the room.

Chicken Nugget has done well with children, but because he's still a giant, gangly puppy who occasionally forgets where all four of his feet are, he'd do best with older children who won't be accidentally knocked over during one of his enthusiastic happy dances.

Chicken Nugget isn't the right fit for every home, and that's okay. He's looking for the family who understands that the very best things in life are worth working for. Give him the time, patience, and commitment he deserves, and he'll reward you with a bond unlike any other—a loyal best friend who will fill your home with laughter, cuddles, goofy antics, and unconditional love for years to come.

Chicken Nugget is house trained, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, on flea, tick and heart worm prevention, neutered and so much more!

Please note at our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach. Meet Wink & Blink!

Link to Application: https://forms.gle/dcS8P2xSPwQc8xfb6

Some friendships are special. Some are inseparable. And then there's Wink and Blink—a bonded pair of 4.5 month-old kittens who have already overcome more than most animals experience in a lifetime and are now ready to find their forever home together.

Wink is a beautiful gray tabby with a story that could have ended very differently. She came to rescue from the Central Valley suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection. By the time she arrived, one of her eyes could not be saved and had to be surgically removed when she was only five weeks old. Thanks to an incredible feline veterinarian, Cat Tales Feline Health Center, and a lot of loving care, Wink made a full recovery and has never looked back.

Today, Wink is thriving. She has the majority of the vision in her remaining eye and navigates the world so effortlessly that most people forget she only has one eye. She races through the house, chases toys, wrestles with her friends, climbs cat trees, and enjoys every minute of kittenhood. Wink doesn't know she's different—and honestly, neither will you.

What people notice most about Wink isn't her missing eye—it's her incredible personality. She is sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and always happy to be part of whatever you're doing. When she's not busy playing, she's happy to curl up next to her people for snuggles and soak up all the love she can get. She's the perfect combination of adventurous kitten and loving companion.

Then there's Blink, her fluffy orange tabby best friend and professional purring machine. Blink is the kind of kitten who melts hearts instantly. He loves being talked to, enjoys being held, and will start purring so loudly you would think he has a motor hidden inside him. Sweet, affectionate, and endlessly charming, Blink believes everyone he meets is a new friend.

Together, they are the perfect pair. Wink brings the goofy, adventurous, playful energy and plenty of cuddles, while Blink balances things out with his gentle, affectionate personality and endless supply of purrs. Whether they're chasing toys, snuggling together for a nap, or greeting you at the door, these two make every day brighter.

Wink and Blink are looking for a forever home that will welcome them both and appreciate just how special they are.

If you're looking for double the cuddles, double the entertainment, and double the love, Wink and Blink are ready to fill your home—and your heart—with happiness.

⚠️Warning⚠️: Side effects of adopting Wink and Blink may include constant purring, occupied laps, endless laughter, and a camera roll filled entirely with kitten photos.

Both are fully vaccinated , microchipped, dewormed, and treated for parasites and worm. They are on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention as well. They have both combo tested negative and spayed and neutered.

Please note at our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach. Our goal is to ensure that each pet is placed in a home that suits their needs and that the animal is the right fit for your lifestyle.

Meet Nacho, a 4-year-old 25 pound Pomsky with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and just enough husky attitude to keep life entertaining.

Link to Application: https://forms.gle/b7MMpJ8t51bbPCNQ6

Nacho is the definition of a love bug. He adores people and has never met a stranger who wasn't a potential best friend. Whether you're heading out for an adventure or settling in for a movie marathon, he's happy to be right by your side. He's the perfect mix of active and couch potato—he loves getting out for walks and exploring, but he's equally committed to perfecting the art of professional snuggling.

This handsome guy has quite the success story. Since coming into rescue, Nacho has lost over 20 pounds through healthy eating and exercise, and he's feeling better than ever! He's proud of his new figure, although he'll still gladly remind you that he's absolutely starving anytime you happen to open the refrigerator. Food is the quickest way to his heart, and he'll happily convince you that every meal should include a little something for him.

Like any self-respecting Pomsky, Nacho has opinions... lots of them. He believes everyone should know when it's dinner time, when someone walks past the house, and especially when the weather becomes personally offensive. Speaking of weather, if temperatures start climbing, expect dramatic sighs and longing looks toward the nearest air conditioner. Nacho firmly believes summer is overrated and Christmas is the best holiday.

Nacho enjoys playing with other dogs and has a blast with canine friends, but he'd prefer a home without a dominant dog. He's happiest with easygoing companions who enjoy playing together without worrying about who's in charge. He's also been great with cats and has shown that he can peacefully share his home with feline friends.

If you're looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, happily accept all the love you're willing to give, and provide hilarious daily commentary on life, Nacho is ready to meet you. He may be a little dramatic, a little opinionated, and permanently convinced he's owed another snack, but we wouldn't change a thing about him.

Warning: Side effects of adopting Nacho may include uncontrollable laughter, sharing your snacks, and hearing dramatic commentary every time the weather exceeds 75°F.

Nacho is house trained, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, on flea, tick and heart worm prevention, neutered and so much more!

Please note at our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach.
