Under the September sun, Yolo Land Trust’s 37th annual A Day in the Country brought the spirit of the farm to the table, with seasonal bites from local chefs, refreshing w**es and b**rs from regional producers, and the company of farmers, volunteers, sponsors and friends of local agriculture.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special celebration of local agriculture. Our deepest thanks go to the Gill family for graciously opening their farm to us, and to all the extraordinary farms, restaurants, w**eries, breweries, sponsors and volunteers.

For 35 years, the Hoes Down Harvest Festival has invited people to experience the joy and beauty of life connected to the land.

On October 3, 2026, spend the day at Full Belly Farm exploring fields and orchards, meeting farmers, learning new skills and discovering where your food comes from. The Hoes Down Harvest Festival offers a rare opportunity to visit and enjoy the splendors of a working farm while enjoying local organic food, live music and camping in a magical walnut orchard.

The newly signed 2026-27 state budget includes $50 million for California’s Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) Program, a critical source of funding for permanently protecting working farms and ranches from development. Continued funding means more opportunities to keep California farmland in agriculture, protect open space and wildlife habitat, and support the farms that contribute to our local food system and economy.
