Want to better understand why Yolo County's Elections Office has the reputation of being the most accessible and transparent elections operations in California? Our League is hosting a presentation by Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Registrar of Voters, entitled "Ensuring Election Integrity in Yolo County," at 7:00pm, Monday, September 23, at the Woodland Community and Senior Center (2001 East Street). Jesse Salinas stated in a recent press release about this event, "I always strive to conduct a fair, accessible and transparent election. Some of the following are examples of specific things we have done, including purchasing new voter equipment and an election management system, continuously updating our voter records, signature training for all staff and transparency through various communication/invitations to observe.”

Joining Forces - Unanimous! During their June 2024 annual meetings, the members of the Woodland and Davis Area Leagues voted separately - and unanimously - to join forces to create the League of Women Voters of Yolo County. This follows much collaboration over the last few years, a member survey, and advice from LWVC coaches on whether and how to join forces to create a countywide League. This fall both Leagues will focus on voter education activities related to the presidential election. In January 2025 they will start working toward a complete merger, then outreach to communities throughout Yolo County. Can't wait!
