with community during this tough time. Where is your Tuesday Table? What is Tuesday Table? Tuesday Table is an opportunity to give to and receive from your neighbors. Hosts set up a table on Tuesdays with essentials (Food, books, personal care items) to share with their neighbors and their communities. How do I participate? RECEIVE: Drop by your neighborhood Tuesday Table and take what you need. P

lease only touch what you are taking. Please maintain at least 6 feet of distance from anyone else at the table and wear a face covering if others are present. Do not drop off items at a Tuesday Table. GIVE: Set up a Tuesday Table outside your home, business, or other location that is safe for both walkers and drive up. Make sure everything you put out is clean, has been isolated as needed, and is something that a neighbor may need. If you want to donate to a Tuesday Table coordinate with the host first. Tuesday Tables can be as small as a cardboard box or as long as a city block. The idea to be able to both GIVE and RECEIVE freely in a time that has challenged each of us in different ways. It is both a way to help and to get help. How did Tuesday Table start? In March 2020 (on César Estrada Chávez Day) I set up a small table outside my home in south Davis, CA with free Food and Books for my neighbors in response to the growing COVID19 pandemic and financial fallout. The idea has taken off and this Tuesday will be our 17th Tuesday Table. Melanie joined me early on, has been coordinating tables in Davis, and sets up a table outside her west Davis home each week. There are now Tuesday Tables in all parts of Davis, in Woodland, CA and in West Linn, OR (my new home). Melanie and I invite you to join us in setting up your own community Tuesday Table, contributing to one with a neighbor, or taking what you need from your local table. It has warmed my heart to see the Tuesday Table locations popping up like wildflowers recently.

Hello Woodland Community,
With the rising costs of food and economic uncertainty I am hoping to revive this page In some useful way and have an idea but am open to other ideas as well. I want to be upfront however and state that I can not be a Tuesday Table host like I was in 2020/2021 due to a physical disability that was exacerbated by the moving of heavy boxes/crates while I was a host.  There are also somewhat different circumstances now than there were in 2020 when this project started such as the Woodland Food Closet not haveing covid restrictions on physical donations any more. 

All that being said I do forsee possible uses to utilize this page going forward and an idea I have been considering for a while is that those of us with a garden can post on here every Tuesday if we have any excess garden produce and set it out in box clearly marked FREE and share our address. I would encurage you to donatet a large amount of excess produce to the Woodland Food Closet but I can also forsee haveing three extra tomatoes and two extra zuchini and not wanting to take the time to deliver a smaller amount of excess to the food closet. This seems like a hopefully easy way to gift excess to the community when the alternative may be food going to waste.

What do peoples think of this idea? Does any one have any other ideas?
