What a beautiful session today watching our guest gently groom Asher. As she brushed him with such care, especially around his old wounds , it opened a powerful moment of revelation.
Just like she moved tenderly around his scars, the Holy Spirit is so gentle with our wounds and traumas. He cares for us in the deepest, most loving way, doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves and bringing healing where we need it most.

Thank you, Lord, for these tender pictures of Your love through our horses.

There’s something so powerful about watching one of our horses simply rest in the sunshine. No striving. No fear. Just peace.
These quiet moments remind us of the invitation we have in Christ:

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” – Psalm 4:8

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” – Isaiah 26:3

“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

May you find that same rest and peace in His presence today.

🎉 Happy 71st Birthday to our incredible volunteer and friend, Ilene! 🐴❤️

Today we celebrate a true gift to 8th Mountain Ranch! Even after facing a stroke two years ago, Ilene continues to pour out love and joy every time she steps onto the ranch. Her gentle presence and faithful service have been such a blessing to our rescued horses, to the healing work happening here, and to Robert and I personally. Watching her light up around the horses reminds us daily of God’s redeeming grace and the strength He gives us to keep showing up.
Ilene is also using her birthday in such a beautiful way, fundraising for the ranch so we can continue providing safe, healing spaces for those who need it most.

I want to share a beautiful testimony of healing from someone who recently experienced our horse mentorship program:

“I really was not sure what to expect with the horse mentorship, but it went beyond anything I could have imagined. It helped me to see the walls I have put up in my life to keep others away in order to protect myself from rejection. When I experienced this beautiful horse, Amaris, wanting to get close to me, it brought realization and healing to an area in my life I had kept protected for many years.”

Stories like this touch the very heart of why we do what we do. Horses have a remarkable way of mirroring our hearts and inviting us into places we’ve long kept closed off. Through patient, pressure-free interaction with Amaris, this person encountered a picture of unconditional acceptance, a living reminder of how God gently pursues us and invites us to let down our walls.
We are so honored to play a small part in these encounters. God is so good!

It was an honor to facilitate an equine-assisted learning session with this remarkable young woman. I was deeply moved to witness her journey alongside Amaris as they skillfully navigated the delicate and sometimes confusing concept of boundaries. What began as a practical exercise quickly blossomed into a profound moment of self-discovery and reflection. The insights she gained transferred effortlessly into her personal life, creating a meaningful transformation that was both powerful and deeply inspiring to observe. ❤️🐴
