The Assyrian Studies Association is proud to announce a landmark five-year funding commitment from the Assyrian Foundation of America. AFA has been a cornerstone supporter since ASA's inception in 2019, and their pledged contribution of $30,000 annually over the next five years will be instrumental in sustaining and expanding our work in Assyrian scholarship and cultural heritage. Thank you, AFA, for believing in our mission.

Honored to feature Arbella Bet-Shlimon as our Research Spotlight this week!

Arbella, an Associate Professor of History at the University of Washington, was one of our distinguished presenters at the 2024 Assyrian Studies Symposium hosted at the Stanford Humanities Center. This week, we highlight her powerful new article, “Propaganda of the Victims”: Atrocity Denial, Ethnic Nationalism, and the Disparagement of Assyrians in Middle East Studies, published in the Review of Middle East Studies in April 2026.
