We recently joined Governor Josh Green at the Hawaii State Capitol as he signed a proclamation recognizing ALS Awareness Month and met with members of the ALS community.

Following the proclamation, we gathered for our annual Lei of Remembrance Ceremony - a deeply meaningful tradition honoring those in Hawaii who have lost their lives to ALS over the past year. One flower was carefully strung for each individual remembered, creating a beautiful lei that was then placed before the Father Damien statue at the State Capitol.

As we remember those we have lost, we also reflected on the strength, love, and resilience of the ALS community. Their lives continue to inspire our commitment to finding treatments and cures for ALS.

Why do you Walk & Roll?

For some, it’s for a loved one. For others, it’s about showing up, raising funds for research, and supporting families impacted by ALS.

Meet Carson Lee - a junior at De La Salle High School and a resident of Diablo, CA whose “why” is deeply personal. Carson’s sister-in-law, Alyssa Jeswald-Lee, lived with ALS for four years.

After first attending the East Bay Walk & Roll, Carson stayed involved with the ALS Network, turning his commitment into action by completing his Eagle Scout Project through multiple acts of service for the ALS community.

His story is a powerful reminder that every step, every roll, and every action taken matters.
