APECA-Association Promoting Education and Conservation in Amazonia

APECA-Association Promoting Education and Conservation in Amazonia APECA is a registered NGO, NP in USA and Peru. Students/research/ volunteer donate: www.apecaperu.org

Sustainable development/conservation through education at El Fundo ED center on banks of Amazon River to benefit remote village residents. APECA’s immediate goal is the stabilization of existing communities along the Amazon river in Peru. We do this by ensuring that both basic and higher level needs of individuals living in these communities are fulfilled. In doing so the locals are empowered to

fulfill APECA's ultimate goal; the conservation of the Amazonian rainforest. APECA embraces a full scale approach of community building which focuses on the overall well-being and empowerment of the inhabitants of the Amazon through a variety of social endeavors. Among them are health clinics, medical training programs, clean water projects, education, and reforestation initiatives.

Greetings! We want to share our good news with you!

SUCCESS
A Holiday Recipe... To last a lifetime

Start with one child.
Give him ten tree sapling for his garden.
Give him an educated village leader to encourage him and work next to him.
Four years later those tress with flower and he will have hundreds of saplings to plant.
Six more years of growth, he will have trees for house construction plus saplings
Five more years of growth, he will have trees large enough to provide wide boards for furniture construction and how many more samplings to plant, sell or just share each year.
Result:

He will have a SUCCESS.
He will have increased self-esteem.
He will be helping his family grow out of poverty.
He will be preserving the Amazon Rainforest
for all of us!
PS: She is also very appropriate for this recipe!

On the islands of Muyuy in community of San Fransisco de Angamos, Rio Amazonas, Peru. APECA, Julio Luis and members of his community will plant more than 3,000 trees over the course of two years.

These trees, a renewable resource independent of the virgin forest, will be available for centuries. They will be used in family dwelling construction and sold to outlying villagers providing the opportunity of economic development for the entire community.

Education makes this reforestation successful.

Project participation requires village elected representatives to complete comprehensive APECA training programs designed by local experts in agriculture and natural resources. Trainings focus on the villager's role in maintaining the health and sustainability of the rainforest. Local Conservation Leaders monitor the success of the tree and mobilize the community as APECA facilitates the evolution of sustainable rainforest management.

HAPPY EARTH DAY! In the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Mother Earth is healing. One of the great projects APECA works on is our Reforestation Program.

APECA provides small trees to children in the villages we serve, so they can take care of them and bring back life to the Amazon. Once the trees grow, they will provide fruit or wood to the villages.

With your donation, we can provide more trees to children!
