Nature Vision is an environmental education nonprofit organization. Nature Vision gives students the science and tools to take action and be good stewards.

As an environmental education nonprofit (501c3), Nature Vision brings place-based, experiential nature programming to over 70,000 Pre-K through 12th grade students each year in King and Snohomish Counties. By bringing our programs directly to schools and local greenspaces, we work to ensure that all students receive quality nature connections where they need them the most. What makes our programs so impactful? They are:
•aligned with Washington State K-12 learning standards to support students on their STEM education journeys
•integrate the latest scientific information
•anchored in details about local ecosystem for maximal relevancy
•often include environmental stewardship and community science projects
•help students discover every-day actions they can take in their homes and communities to connect with and preserve nature

The students we serve come from diverse backgrounds: one in three are eligible for free or reduced price meals and one in five are English-language learners. Nature Vision’s programming results in significant student gains in scientific knowledge, including every-day actions students and their communities can take to help our local ecosystems. We are proud to be educating and inspiring a new generation of environmental stewards and community scientists.

Missed the last open house? Never fear we have another coming up on November 6th. Drop by Farrel-McWhirter park anytime between 1pm and 3pm. Our teachers will give you a tour of the preschool and answer any questions you may have about enrollment and how our school operates. We love getting children out in nature and connected with plants and animals. Recently, the children got to meet all the animals on Farrel-McWhirter farm. They adored getting to pet the bunnies, goats, and sheep. If that sounds like something your upcoming preschooler would enjoy, you should come check us out.

Nature Vision’s 2025–2026 Annual Report is here!
This year, we connected over 70,000 students to the natural world through hands-on, inclusive environmental education—from preschoolers exploring the forest to teens leading community science projects.
What we accomplished together:
🌲 3,201 programs across 235 schools
🌲 7,476 hours of community science and stewardship
🌲 19% boost in environmental literacy
🌲87% of our programs were free for schools

We picked apples for apple sauce on the Farrel McWhirter farm. Curious about what else we do at Nature Vision preschool? We are hosting an open house on October 17th from 10am to noon. Looking for a preschool for next year? Nature Vision Preschool is a half day, play based program for children ages 3-5. Drop by our Open House on Saturday, October 17th, to see our space, meet the teachers, and ask any questions you may have. The school is nestled in Farrel-McWhirter Park. Come any time between 10am to noon on October 17th.

Its official; school has started up again! We are ecstatic to have our preschoolers back in the park so we can learn and grow together. They are already making friends and getting used to the space. The game "What time is it Mr. Fox?" was definitely a highlight for these girls. "Duck, Duck Goose" was also a big hit. What was your favorite game as a kid?
