Youth4Hire is connecting teens with local paid gigs while helping them build responsibility, confidence, and real-world skills.

What if a teenager’s first paid opportunity came from someone living right down the street?

I’ve been thinking about this idea for a long time.

There are so many teenagers who are capable, responsible, and ready to earn their own money.
They can tutor.
They can help with technology.
They can walk a dog.
They can help a neighbor with a project.
They have skills that people actually need.

But how does a teenager get that first opportunity?

That question is why I built Youth4Hire.

Today, it’s officially LIVE. 🚀

Youth4Hire is a free platform where community members can post age-appropriate opportunities for teens, and teens can find opportunities that fit their skills and schedules.

Parents can stay informed along the way, too.

And honestly, I don’t know yet how big this can become.

But I do know where it starts:
The first paid opportunity.
The first paycheck.
The first “someone believed I could do this.”

So I’m asking my community to help me get this off the ground.

Congratulations to Dragon's Lair for winning our Most Original Business Idea award at the 2026 Spreading Smiles Children's Business Fair!

Dragon's Lair wowed both our judges and visitors with an imaginative collection of homemade, 3D-printed creations, including dragon surprise eggs, dice towers, dice bags, and magic wands. Every product reflected incredible creativity and attention to detail, bringing a fantasy-inspired world to life.

Their booth was just as impressive as their products. Beautifully presented as a dragon's treasure chest, complete with eye-catching signs and displays showcasing the surprises waiting inside, the entire experience was engaging from the moment visitors walked up.

Dragon's Lair demonstrated exactly what this award celebrates: originality, creativity, and the courage to bring a unique idea to life.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Chief Guest, Leslie Feinzaig!

We were truly honored to welcome to this year's Spreading Smiles Children's Business Fair.

As the Founder and General Partner of Graham & Walker and the Founder of the Female Founders Alliance, Leslie has spent years supporting entrepreneurs as they turn ideas into successful companies. Having someone with her experience and passion for entrepreneurship spend the afternoon with our young business owners was incredibly meaningful.

Throughout the fair, Leslie visited booths, spoke with participants about their businesses, asked thoughtful questions, and encouraged each young entrepreneur to continue pursuing their ideas. She also presented awards and shared an inspiring keynote that was one of the highlights of the day.

In the days following the fair, we received several heartfelt emails from families telling us how much Leslie's message meant to them. Parents shared that her words were truly inspiring, and many children left feeling even more confident, motivated, and excited to continue building their businesses and pursuing their dreams.

Thank you, Leslie, for sharing your time, wisdom, and encouragement with our community. Your support helped make this year's Children's Business Fair an unforgettable experience, and we are so grateful you chose to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

What an unforgettable day! 💙

The 2026 Spreading Smiles Children's Business Fair was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment the fair began, Redmond Downtown Park was filled with creativity, excitement, and the entrepreneurial spirit of young business owners eager to share what they had built.

Our young entrepreneurs spent months planning, designing, creating, and preparing for this day. They welcomed customers with confidence, explained their products, answered questions, made sales, and gained real-world business experience that will stay with them long after the fair ended.

Visitors explored an incredible variety of businesses, from handmade crafts and artwork to baked goods, games, jewelry, candles, 3D-printed creations, and so much more. Every booth reflected the imagination, dedication, and hard work of the children behind it.

None of this would have been possible without our amazing participants, supportive families, dedicated volunteers, thoughtful judges, generous sponsors, and every community member who came to shop, encourage, and celebrate these young entrepreneurs. Thank you for making this event such a tremendous success.

This is only the beginning! Over the next several days, we'll be sharing more from this year's fair, including highlights from the day, photos, our incredible young businesses, special moments, and of course, our 2026 award winners.
