🩵Do you know the symptoms of ovarian cancer?
•Loss of appetite
•Feeling full after a few bites of food
•Changes in digestion or bathroom frequency
•Pain in abdomen
•Unexpected weight loss
•Bloating

🩵Until there is a reliable screen, anyone born with ovaries must be aware of the symptoms that often mimic other health conditions.

•Have a serious discussion with family members regarding history of cancer.
•Certain genetic mutations increases your risk.

🩵I’ve been undergoing treatment these past 9.5 years.
It’s a miracle I’m alive.
🩵Use your powerful voice and advocate for improving the statistics.

🩵We ovarian cancer survivors gather for a “POWERFUL” luncheon with Sachia Powell, co-founder of Powell-Drescher Ovarian Cancer Foundation.
🩵Guest speaker, Gynecologic Oncologist and Assistant Professor Dr. Soledad Jorge, MD, MPH of University of Washington School of Medicine presented insight on ctDNA applications in Ovarian Cancer and responded to questions.

💝We also took a moment to remember our beloved Teal Sister/friend Elizabeth, who recently passed away and was an active supporter of the foundation.

🩵Thank you and Sachia and we look forward to our next gathering.

🩵Much appreciation to Powell-Drescher Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation for hosting a remarkable POWER Luncheon, featuring Dr. Soledad Jorge, MD, MPH, Gynecologist Oncologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine, who delivered an insightful presentation on ctDNA Liquid Biopsy and its applications in ovarian cancer.

•People ask “What’s it’s like to be diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer?”
•Fear of recurrence is always there… quietly hiding/lurking in the background. (see it in the painting?)
•Every lab, every scan reminds you of what you have endured.
•Time passes and this feeling never fully subsides.
•Is cancer going to show up somewhere on my PET/CT scan?
•Is that twinge I felt -yet another recurrence?
•With 5 recurrences since my diagnosis- I HOPE I will NOT endure another.
•Scanxiety is real!
Waiting for results: Am I’m okay? Not okay?
•Emotional ping-pong.
•Trying hard to focus on the mindset “All is Well!”
NOT this time cancer!
•Deep breathing exercises to help shake it off.

🩺Today we celebrate “National Doctors' Day”,
a day to recognize the efforts and unwavering dedication of physicians.
🩵I am personally grateful for Dr. Barbara Goff, whose expertise as a gynecologic oncologist proved pivotal in my ongoing battle against late-stage ovarian cancer.
💝Her exceptional care, guidance, experience and treatment decisions have been instrumental in my survivorship.

•Ovarian cancer took away so much from me, but it gave me Deborah, a strong and inspiring friend who's also an ovarian cancer survivor.
•Deborah shows remarkable leadership, resilience, and dedication to ovarian cancer advocacy and women's health.
•Her expertise and passion are driving change for women affected by ovarian cancer.
•Cancer may have brought us together, but our friendship is a lasting gift.

The moment I met Elizabeth Crouch, I knew she was one of a kind.
🌸Her spark was contagious, always ready with her sharp wit, and effortlessly approachable.
🩵She had a gift for making everyone feel at ease and welcomed.
✨A shining light who bravely faced ovarian cancer, advocating tirelessly for research and awareness.
🩵It's heartbreaking to think of her in the past tense; her smile and kind heart will be deeply missed. 😢
