**Football Registration is Still Open**

Football season is on the horizon, can you smell it?!
Registration is open, and there is still time to sign up. 3rd - 8th Grade tackle as well as flag.

Remember, 3rd grade is playing tacklebar this year which is great for those kids who are not sure they want to transition to tackle from flag. More information to come on that!

The WAA football board knows we live in a time of uncertainty. We are taking all the steps possible to make a safe atmosphere for the players, coaches, and fans. We have been asked a lot "is the season going to happen?" As of right now, absolutely! We can't predict what happens in the Country in the next 6 weeks but we are preparing for the season like any other. We are ready, let's play some football! SIGN UP TODAY!!

3rd Grade will be in the MEYFL again this year but will be doing TackleBar instead of tackle. This is a great way to transition from flag football to tackle. The fundamentals of good, heads up tackling are focused on preparing the kids for the next level. We have a fantastic 3rd grade coach this year who comes from Texas football!! The time has come!!! WAA youth football registration is now open! Registration will only be open until the first week of July so get signed up ASAP!

The WAA Football Board knows there are a lot of questions regarding safety and COVID-19 and we are working on a plan to combat these issues. We will make this season as safe as possible for the players, coaches, and fans. More info to come.

During these difficult times WAA Football and all of WAA wish nothing but good health to all of our football families and their loved ones.

We are in uncertain times and the future, at this point, is ever changing. One thing remains the same, we stand resolute, we stand as one, and we will be back on the field!

With regards to the Spring Flag Football season, please read the following message from Director Chris Klein:

Spring Flag Football Families,

We hope this update finds everyone healthy as we continue to endure the COVID-19 pandemic. With our Spring flag season officially cancelled, the Woodbury Athletic Association will begin issuing a full refund (the amount you paid) to all registered Spring flag families. The refunds will be credited
via Sports Engine and show up as a credit on the account you used upon registering for the Spring flag season, unless that account has since been closed. In that case, the WAA will issue a paper check.

The City of Woodbury has announced the closure of HESC until at least April 1st thus effecting the Spring Flag Football Season. All March 20th and 27th games are cancelled.
The cancellation/closure is merely a preventative measure. The cancellation of large crowd events is a common response in effort to curb the spread of Covid-19. Taking these measures will help eradicate the disease so our future sporting events can continue as usual. Watch for further communication from WAA. We strongly encourage your other daily activities continue as normal to support our economy and the Woodbury community.

Feb. 28th Games Rescheduled to May 15th. March 6th Games will be the season opener. It's going to be OK Tim, football is coming!!!!
