During our club meeting this week we had two guest speakers come talk to our students about their careers, what the pathway to getting such a degree requires looks like, as well as how being bilingual benefits them in the workplace.

On Monday, we piloted our Russian program after school group. For our first session, students made koraliki (small bread buns). The bread was delicious (no photos because it was eaten faster than the speed of light), and the students enjoyed the time making a traditional bread, followed by some oral and written Russian language practice. The bread dough was kindly prepared for us by The Pierogi Place restaurant in downtown Woodburn, which is a small business owned by a Russian old believer family

Mrs. Kosovan's 4th and 5th grade class were able to visit Champoeg State Park to experience some hands-on learning of how life was like in 1860. They got to make candles, hand wash clothes, write with feather pens and so much more.

Grades 3-5 will paint step by step with a Russian speaking paint instructor. Prek-2nd will also have a structured paint activity.
RSVP is required as space is limited.
If you have children in both sessions, please register them for their grade session.

Happy International Women's Day!

A few of our boys walked around reciting a poem and giving roses to our Russian program teachers and support staff. While this holiday isn't as widely celebrated in America, it is a big holiday in other countries around the world, including slavic countries.
