The Training Alumni Association (TAA) in partnership with The Arc of Virginia needs you to participate in Virtual Developmental Disabilities (DD) Days.

Due to COVID-19, TAA has reimagined how to deliver DD Days 2021…rather than one day, they have identified virtual DD weeks!

Monday, January 25, 2021-Friday, January 29, 2021 &
Monday, February 8, 2021-Friday, February 12, 2021

Here’s what you need to do:
- Select your date(s) to advocate with your legislators
- Schedule an appointment between 8:30am-3:30pm
- Meet with your legislator via Zoom, phone call, or email them directly

Habari Gani family! What’s the word? 👂🏾

Today continues the celebration of Kwanzaa! Our third principle is Ujima/Collective Work and Responsibility. As we are living in a season of “gaslighting“, I remind my minions that we must investigate and learn from our past so that we can guide our steps in the present. In this way it can set up a bright future to look forward to. Never disregard the facts. Always make sure that what you hear has been checked in several ways and line up to what is true. Our actions cement our words. Our actions form a ripple effect that touches those around us directly and in directly. Nothing you do only effects you. They must be mindful of this.

Habari Gani family! What’s the word? 👂🏾

Today continues the celebration of Kwanzaa! Our second principle is Kujichagulia/Self-Determination. As we reflect on this today, my minions and I will focus on standing our ground positively and practicing making sound decisions that not only benefit ourselves but our family and community. What we choose to do as an individual has a ripple effect that touches our family and our community. We must be good stewards of this thing called life that God has given us. We are all directly/indirectly connected (six degrees of separation). Good choices must be made and mistakes must be learned from and not repeated.
