🐾 Pawsitive Therapy Tails 🐕‍🦺

"Today Bella had a wonderful visit at Commonwealth Sr Living. When we arrived one staff member said that whenever we visit, it’s the highlight of her day. We went to memory care and spent time with a resident who was very sad and had been crying. Bella made a strong connection with her as they looked into each other’s eyes and the resident stroked her head and said “Bella Bella my sweet Bella” over and over again. It was a very moving moment."

September has arrived. Hopefully this means we will start to feel some cool weather soon.

As many of you already know, we lost one of our own, Chrissy White, recently. She was such a huge part of Tail Waggers, and her loss is immense. It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our beloved members and a dear friend, Chrissy White. We decided to hold off on making a public announcement to give Chrissy’s family the private space and time they needed. We now come together to honor and remember her.

Chrissy was a huge presence for Tail Waggers. She was always involved in our fundraisers, helping with whatever she could, and her creative flair is where she absolutely shined. Known for her unique seasonal greeting cards, she even spent time teaching us how to make them to help support our holiday fundraisers.

More than anything, Chrissy adored her therapy dog, Rory. They were an unforgettable team. They brought comfort, smiles, and unconditional love and support wherever they went. Chrissy absolutely loved visiting the students and teachers at Woodbridge Senior High School as well as local elementary schools and colleges. She and Rory created quiet moments of calm and happiness for the kids and teachers whenever they needed it.

While she loved visiting the schools, she and Rory brought smiles to so many facilities and people. They were a one-of-a-kind duo who simply enjoyed sharing their love and compassion.

Her compassion, humor, and dedication helped shape Tail Waggers Hopp from day one. She even helped give our group its name.

Our deepest love and condolences go out to Chrissy’s family and loved ones during this time.

The Sunday Smile

Breaking News: Bear has officially been promoted to "Mr. Perfect Ears." 🐾😆

During one of Bear's visits, a resident became completely obsessed with his wonderfully floppy ears. She decided they were way too soft to let go of and held onto one for the entire visit!

As a dedicated therapy professional, Bear took his new role as "chief ear-holder" very seriously and handled the extra cuddles like an absolute champ. 10/10 excellent customer service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

August is officially here, and we have a major celebration on our hands! 🥳 So many Tail Wagger birthdays are happening this month. A massive Happy Birthday to all of our wonderful members! 🎂🎉🎁 Let us know in the comments if you are celebrating an August birthday.

We also want to give another huge shoutout to Jeannie! July was an incredibly successful month, all thanks to her taking a pie to the face to help fund our brand-new scholarship. 🥧💥

🥧 Birthdays are for cake, but Jeannie chose a face full of pie instead!

To help us launch our very first scholarship and buy food for Animal Allies, Jeannie literally put her money where her mouth is. She let a pie get smashed right into her face, raising an incredible $829! 💥

She remains our absolute champion of taking one for the team, even if it means smelling like whipped cream for the next week. 🫣

For her birthday fundraiser this year, Jeannie is launching "SMASH FOR CASH" to raise money for the Tail Waggers HOPP, Inc. 2027 Scholarship Fund! 🎓🐾

We are raising money to award at least one $500 scholarship to a graduating high school student pursuing a career in animal care. You can be the lucky winner who gets to pie Jeannie! 🤣🤣🤣

Sweating for the animals! 🥵🧁 Huge shoutout to the incredible Tail Waggers members who spent their 4th of July running a bake sale in the heat. Because of their dedication (and your amazing support), we raised $500 for the Pet Assistance League!

Raising funds to support local rescues isn't always easy, but our members proved once again how committed they are to helping our local community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by! 🎉
