Hop Brook MTB 2022 is cancelled.

The Army Corp of Engineers has revoked our permit due to the park being flooded from Thursday night's rain. A large portion of the park is currently under five feet of water. The flooding has cut the course in half and, as of this writing this, has only continued to rise. Park Rangers opened the flood gates of the dam immediately this morning but the intake of water continues to be greater than the outtake, resulting in an increase in water all day. The Rangers estimate the park will still be underwater by Sunday morning.

Laurel Bicycle Club and Bikereg will work together to refund all race entry fees. If you ordered a t-shirt, please email [email protected] to let us know if you would like to pick up your shirt at Amity Bicycles, have us mail your shirt, or if you would like that to be refunded as well.

I am deeply sorry to have to cancel this race but it is completely out of my control. Thank you to everyone for the continued support and please know I wanted nothing more than to host a race on Sunday

It is with great regret to announce that Hop Brook MTB on April 5th has been postponed. Laurel Bicycle Club's special-use permit has been revoked by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for the Hop Brook Lake due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Laurel Bicycle Club is currently exploring options for rescheduling the event for later this year.
All entry fees will be refunded to pre-registered racers.

We hate to cancel cycling events and would always prefer to let the race go on no matter what, but in this case it was not our decision. Without a permit, we have been denied access to the park.
Hop Brook MTB race is the main fundraiser for Laurel Bicycle Club (a non-profit 501c3 organization). The money made from this race goes towards promoting events such as West Rock Super Prestige and various others we have hosted and planned throughout the years. To mitigate the financial loss of cancellation, a donation page has been setup on our membership dues page:

T-Shirts for Hop Brook have already been ordered, if anyone would like one we can mail them out or have them picked up at another event. T-Shirts can be purchased on the Laurel Membership Dues Page linked above.
