Today we celebrate and honor the incredible men who help shape, guide, support, and inspire our children every day. Whether you are a father, grandfather, uncle, godfather, mentor, or father figure, your love, wisdom, strength, and presence make a lasting impact that extends far beyond what words can express.

A special Father’s Day salute goes to the amazing fathers and father figures of the Manassas-Woodbridge Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. It is our honor and pleasure to announce our 2025-2026 Distinguished Mother of the Year, Program Director LaKeisha Scott, who has served in our chapter since 2017.

Lakeisha is the embodiment of excellence, creativity, and intentional leadership as Program Director for the Manassas-Woodbridge Chapter of Jack and Jill. She consistently ensures our programming is not only well-executed, but truly 5-STAR ready for our children, reflecting the high standards and rich experiences they deserve.

From strategic program planning to innovative and engaging ideas, Lakeisha’s vision, dedication, and commitment to excellence elevate every experience we provide. 🎓 Honoring Legacy, Uplifting Futures 🌟

The Manassas-Woodbridge Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is proud to award the Tommie J. Wonnum III Memorial Scholarship to Jeffry Gomez-Cruz, a student at Potomac High School—the alma mater of Tommie J. Wonnum III.

This $1,000 scholarship was established in memory of MWC graduate Tommie J. Wonnum III and is supported by his Associate Parents, Frances Wonnum Barr and Tommie J. Wonnum Jr. It is awarded annually to a deserving African American male student from Potomac High School who exemplifies academic promise and strength of character—celebrating Tommie’s legacy Tommie’s legacy by supporting educational excellence in the community he loved. 💗💙

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing mothers, grandmothers, aunties, caretakers, bonus moms, and mother figures who pour love, wisdom, strength, and faith into the lives of others every day.

Today, we honor the beauty of your love, the sacrifices often unseen, and the prayers you have prayed over your families and communities. May God continue to cover you, strengthen you, and bless you abundantly.

We also pause with tender hearts to lift up those who may find this day difficult, those whose mothers are no longer here with us, those who are grieving the loss of a child, and those carrying quiet pain today. May God’s comfort surround you, His peace hold you, and His love remind you that you are not alone.

In roughly 1 hour, our group planted more than 800 watermelon seedlings. The harvest occurs in July.

Once fully grown, these seedlings will yield an estimated total of 2400 watermelons. At an average weight of 15 pounds, this means that our HoT Jacks and Jills’ hard work will result in local families receiving about 36,000 pounds of fresh fruit this summer!
