Well… apparently Mother Nature has a sense of humor. 😂🌧️☀️

We made the difficult decision to cancel today’s DMVBOA concert at Belmont Bay because the forecast was calling for a pretty significant chance of rain and unsettled weather.

And now?

I’m looking outside like… SO WHERE IS THE RAIN?! 👀😂

Beautiful skies. No downpour. No ark needed. Apparently the rain did not get the same forecast we did. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Of course, when you’re planning an outdoor event involving a band, vendors, food trucks, equipment, and guests, you have to make the best decision you can with the information available at the time. We’d rather cancel and have the forecast be wrong than move forward and have everyone caught in a storm.

But I’m not going to lie…

This one hurts a little. 😂

My apologies to everyone who was looking forward to coming out today. We were looking forward to seeing you too!

Meanwhile, I’ll just be sitting here enjoying this apparently beautiful rainy day. 🌧️☀️🤣

Dear DMVBOA Members and Friends,

Due to the unsettled weather pattern forecast for the area and our desire to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, we have made the decision to cancel our August 22 event. (if you recieved the email it mistakenly said August 26)

While we’re disappointed that we won’t be able to gather this month, we have some great events ahead!

We wanted to give you an early update regarding Saturday’s event.

We are closely monitoring the weather forecast, which is currently showing a 70% chance of rain for Saturday. With the possibility of unfavorable conditions affecting the event, we want to make sure everyone has as much advance notice as possible.

No cancellation decision has been made at this time. We will continue monitoring the forecast and plan to make a final decision Thursday based on the most current weather information available.

🌊 DMVBOA – We’re Winding Down Summer, But We’re Not Done Yet! ⚓

Summer may be winding down, but we still have plenty happening with DMVBOA!

🚤 Tim’s II Recap: We had a great outing this past Saturday with about 14 people and 6.5 boats. 😂 Yes, 6.5! That story will have to wait for another day…

Join us for N2N Band, food trucks, vendors and great vibes by the water. FREE to the public!

🤝 Saturday, August 29 – Proposed DMVBOA Member Meeting
We’re planning an important conversation about our 2027 initiatives, including establishing a DMVBOA home base. Stay tuned!

🎵 Saturday, September 26 – Final Belmont Bay Concert
We’ll close out our concert season with the Chocolate Factory Band!

⚓ October/November – Captain’s Course
We’re working to bring members an in-person Captain’s Course this fall. Details coming soon.
