Twenty five years ago today that little three and a half year old stood so proud full of wonder and joy with his whole life ahead of him. He held an inner strength and resilience that would carry him through all the challenges ahead. Much has change since then, but he is still the same son with a sweet soul and tender heart that I always knew and loved who would grow up and change the world.
I still miss those early days and life as we knew it with him. ❤️

I am excited to share the 11th Stephen Monaco Charity Golf Event Information and Registration Packet!!! The event will take place on October 30, 2026. Each year is special and this one takes place 25 years after Stephen’s metabolic crisis! Hope you can join us at this special event or support it in Stephen’s honor for the Rare Disease Institute of Children’s National Hospital.

Thank you all for the love! Stephen is doing well after his two procedures the second one came with a pleasant surprise of barely any stones left in the right. Who knows where they went, but we are thrilled! Typical Stephen keeps us guessing though! I got a call from the doctor on Wednesday and again on Thursday regarding his urine culture that decided to grow a different bacteria after he discharged. It’s probably “ colonization “ for those familiar, since he’s doing so well. If he has any symptoms like fever, he has to go back for IV antibiotics , since the strain is resistant to any oral ones. If we make it to Monday, we should be in the clear. 🙏🙏🙂

Good morning! Stephen’s been inpatient for another kidney stone clean out on Monday. Stephen is doing very well. Because of a few concerns these past few months.the GI team was able to do an endoscopy on Monday while Stephen was sedated. It showed that he needed a new type of G tube button due to the way the style he had no longer fit properly. Once all of that was communicated, he actually went back to the OR on Tuesday for a quick trip with the surgical team and they changed out his button. They were able to look themselves with their camera, measure and replace Stephen’s Mini type to a Mickey. I know certain friends will understand this. Stephen has been doing great and we expect to go home. We still have to come back on Sunday for the other kidney on Monday. What a trooper! 🙏❤️🙏🙂
