No Winner at the 2026 Jam-E-Dosti Volleyball Tournament
The final match of the 2026 Jam-E-Dosti Volleyball Tournament of Sacramento, California between Afghan Heat and Santa Clara was interrupted by a power outage during the third set, with the score tied at 7–7. Santa Clara had won the first two sets.
Following the interruption, tournament management discussed possible solutions with representatives of both teams to determine how the championship could be concluded. Both teams were offered the option to replay the final match the following day. However, due to logistical and scheduling constraints, neither team wished to replay the final.
After consultation with both teams, tournament management decided that no winner would be declared for the 2026 Jam-E-Dosti Volleyball Tournament. The two teams would therefore share the tournament’s cash prize.
At the closing ceremony, both teams received their respective cash prizes, while individual award recipients were presented with performance trophies and certificates of merit.
The tournament management appreciates the sportsmanship, cooperation, and understanding demonstrated by both teams throughout this unusual situation. The management also thanked all participating teams, players, volunteers, supporters, and organizers for contributing to the success of the 2026 Jam-E-Dosti Volleyball Tournament.
Congratulations to both Afghan Heat and Santa Clara for reaching the final. We wish them further success in upcoming tournaments.
