"Saturday Fun Family Idea 🌞🫧
Backyard Bubble Exploration!

Bubbles are a fun way to encourage movement, turn-taking, sensory exploration, and shared communication experiences for children of all ages and abilities. Try creating a simple bubble station outside this weekend and explore together using touch, movement, and visual attention.

Fun Ideas to Try:

🫧 Use different sized bubble wands
🫧 Catch bubbles with hands, cups, or nets
🫧 Pop bubbles using feet or elbows
🫧 Add descriptive language/signs like BIG, SMALL, POP, MORE, FAST, SLOW
🫧 Explore bubbles in sunlight or against dark backgrounds for increased visual contrast
🫧 Use scented bubbles or textured gloves for additional sensory input

The best activities are often the simplest — connection, shared attention, laughter, and communication all grow through playful experiences together. 💙

🚲 Happy World Bicycle Day!

Did you know that bike rides can be a wonderful opportunity to build language and communication skills?

Whether you're riding through the neighborhood, exploring a local trail, or taking a family bike ride, every outing creates opportunities to connect, communicate, and learn together.

Try signing and talking about:
🚲 Fast/Slow
🚲 Stop/Go
🚲 Left/Right
🚲 Colors
🚲 Animals you see
🚲 Numbers on signs and houses
🚲 Weather and nature

Language grows through meaningful experiences, and some of the best learning happens when families are simply having fun together.

What are your favorite places to ride as a family?

👀 Ever watch someone signing and think, "I caught a few words, but I have no idea what they just said?"

You're not alone.

One of the biggest challenges for ASL learners isn't learning signs—it's understanding ASL when it's used naturally in conversations, stories, and everyday interactions.

That's why we're offering ASL Receptive Practice Night—an interactive session focused entirely on helping you become a stronger ASL observer and communicator.

During this practice night, you'll watch a variety of signed conversations and scenarios while learning strategies to:

✅ Identify key details and main ideas
✅ Use context clues to improve comprehension
✅ Recognize familiar vocabulary in natural signing
✅ Build confidence understanding real-world ASL

Whether you're learning ASL for your family, your profession, or your own personal growth, this supportive practice session will help you strengthen one of the most important ASL skills—understanding what others are signing.

☀️ Summer break doesn't have to mean a break from learning.

Small, everyday moments can create meaningful opportunities for language growth and connection.

Here are 5 simple ways to keep ASL growing this summer:

🤟 Sign during meals and family conversations
📚 Read books and discuss pictures using ASL
🏖️ Learn signs related to summer activities and vacations
📱 Watch age-appropriate ASL videos together
🚗 Practice ASL during errands, walks, and road trips

Remember, language develops through consistent exposure and meaningful interaction—not lengthy lessons.

What are your favorite ways to incorporate ASL into everyday life during the summer?

📸 **Saturday Fun Family Idea: Photo Storytelling Challenge!**

Take photos throughout your day—then use them later to retell the story together.

Ask questions like:
✨ What happened first?
✨ What did we do next?
✨ What was your favorite part?
✨ How did you feel?

This simple activity builds narrative and sequencing skills while helping children reflect on their day.
