The Wood River Museum & Visitor Center is pleased to announce its newest exhibit entitled: The Tamaroa Village at Grassy Lake, which is derived from a book with the same title written by former Roxana teacher Mr. Ken Webster and illustrated by Kris Wuellner. The exhibit provides several visual displays that capture what life may have been like for The Mississippians, indigenous people, that once inhabited the land where the former Shell Oil and now Conoco Philips 66 Refinery is located in Roxana.

The exhibit is designed for all ages and will be on display until the end of July. The museum is located at 40 W. Ferguson, in Wood River, and is open each Saturday from 1:00-4:00pm. Special tours can be arranged by phoning the museum (618) 254-1993 and leaving a message with all contact information. Admission is free. Mr. Webster's book is available for purchase at the museum.
