A big THANK YOU to our 9 helpers today. The river was cleared from the park in Wolverine to Rondo access, along with N. White Rd to Burt Lake. This one morning makes such a difference for our waterway. We are hoping that next year will bring more volunteers that want to make a difference! Until then, see you in the spring 🌼

River clean-up is rescheduled for this Saturday, September 13th. Same time and places, Wolverine or Indian River location. Please RSVP so we know how much kind help we will have. The weather is predicted to be perfect!

Fall river clean up is scheduled for September 6th at 10 am. EXCITING NEWS...adding a second location, Indian River to Burt Lake!
Wolverine clean up will stay the same, we will meet at the Lumberman's Park. The Indian River section will meet at the launch on North White Road. Since we are expanding our efforts, a RSVP with desired section of the river would be appreciated! As always, thanks for your help!

We are glad people are using the bags. However, someone left their bags in the south Park for us to dispose of. Just a friendly reminder that this is not acceptable. This type of activity could jeopardize our permit status with the DNR. Please help us out, don't ruin our endeavors.

Mesh bags are out! Now let's get busy filling them with river trash. Please take this bag home, dispose of the trash, clean it & save it for your next trip. This is VERY IMPORTANT...please do NOT leave the bag when you exit the river, take it with you. Leaving it could risk our permit status so LETS GO!!!

Sturgeon river is now open from Trowbridge south to Rondo...yay!! It took a month to clear. We are so grateful for peoples expertise to get the job done. Let summer begin! Please remember to pick up trash as you enjoy the Sturgeon, every little bit helps!

Due to the ice storm, which we call tree-itnam, the river clean to remove garbage that was scheduled for June 7th is canceled. We will be having the Fall clean-up as scheduled. More to come when it gets closer. Thanks everyone for your continued support!

UPDATE PER STURGEON RIVER SWEEPERS: The meeting scheduled for May 7th to clear the river has been put on hold due to the extremely dangerous conditions of this project. We will keep you updated.
