Wells for the World, Inc. Wells For The World is a water charity that empowers impoverished communities in developing nations! Wells For The World, Inc. WFTW, Inc.
(1)

is a nonprofit NGO charity, currently active in Kenya and Tanzania, that empowers marginalized communities in developing nations through scientifically-sound and sustainable clean water projects. We provide the resources necessary to not only obtain life-sustaining water but also to flourish economically, improve the collective level of health in communities, and advance education opportunities to

allow future generations to take responsibility for their community and lasting self-sufficiency. is the dream of Clifford Yantz, a hydrogeologist with 33 years’ experience in the environmental and engineering consulting industry, who for years had envisioned establishing a charity to benefit the 1.2 billion+ people that lack access to clean drinking water. WFTW is more than just about installing drinking water wells, it is about applying sound scientific principles to provide clean, sustainable water whether through wells, rain collection and storage (barrels and retention basins), surface water, filtration or other forms of treatment or resources, as we can raise the funds to do so. Proper sanitation is also a key component of providing clean sustainable sources of water; therefore, Wells for the World will promote the use of UNICEF's water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) program guidelines to further improve the lives of those we help.

We completed the well for the Handal, Kasur community in Pakistan! They have express their sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for all our donors' generous support in helping provide clean, sustainable drinking water their community!
Because of your kind assistance and commitment, nearly 3,000 people living in Handal have greatly benefited from this water well project. Your support has made a meaningful and life-saving difference in the lives of many families, including children, women, and elderly residents who were previously facing serious difficulties in accessing clean water.
This project is not only a source of clean water, but also a source of health, safety, and hope for our community. With the availability of clean drinking water, the people of Handal will now be protected from many waterborne diseases and health problems caused by unsafe or contaminated water.

The drilling company mobilized to Handal, Pakistan, which is southwest of Lahore today and set up the drilling rig, made some repairs, and delivered the drilling and well installation materials and will begin drilling tomorrow. This is the first of several wells we are hoping to install in Pakistan this year. Please consider donating so we can make the other wells a reality!!!

WftW has installed our first well in India in Jonnalagadda, Andhra Pradesh state, postal code 522601. Thank you to the Veluru congregation for their prayers for our success with our drilling operations in Kenya! They have been waiting for 6 years for this well, so we are excited to have finally provided them with it! This well will provide 100 families with water each day and will end their harassment (getting pelted with rocks) as they fetch water for their families. (See comments for more videos and photos)

The guys installed the pump, 10,000 liter tank, and piping for Chris' well in Awasi, Kenya, but unfortunately we are still working on getting the electricity installed. It is going to take a few weeks to get the Kenyan Power Company to turn the power on for us.

This is the solar pump our team installed in Sandy's second well in Chemelil, Kenya. It pumps at about 3 gallons per minute, which should provide a couple hundred people with water each day.

Our team went back to the Grace Champion Initiative well location in Kisii to install the pump/electricity, 10,000 liter tank, and complete the piping to the distribution systems for the orphanage and for the community. The drilling company completed the pumping test on the well on Tuesday and we have determined that the well's sustainable yield is about 12 gallons per minute (gpm). At this rate this well can provide enough water for over 1,000 people a day!
The water table was at 69 feet below grade and the well is 394 feet deep, so it should have water for years to come!

Our team built the tank pads at the second Chemelil, Kenya well and the Awasi well locations today. They were also assisting with the construction of the solar panel rack at the second Chemelil well.

The people in Awasi were collecting water at Chris' well today during the pumping test. They said the well was producing 4.5 cubic meters per hour or 19.8 gallons per minute (gpm). Assuming a sustainable yield of 60% of that rate, then the well's sustainable yield would be about 12 gpm. If this holds true, this well should produce enough water for well over 1,000 people!
Thank you Chris and Water4Life Ministry for partnering with us on this well installation!

The pumping test results for Sandy's two wells in Chemelil, Kenya indicate "sustainable" yields (pumping rates) of 3 gallons per minute (gpm) for the first well location and 2.5 gpm for the second well, which is lower than my initial estimates. However, each of these wells should be able to help between 300 to 400 people have the water they so desperately need!
The sustainable yield is defined as 60% of the yield predicted by the pumping test. I used "sustainable" only because both of these wells are fairly shallow and we are hoping these wells do not pump dry over time. (See comments for another video and photo)
