Update on Craig parking project from Cannon Colegrove, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks

On November 5th, 2025, Lewis and Clark County District Court Judge Michael McMahon filed a Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Judgement Quieting Title in the name of Plaintiff BNSF Railway Company. With this now being resolved, FWP will be able to continue the project on BNSF Property. FWP will continue with the engineering firm on the property to reach a 100% design. Following the final design, FWP will release the project for construction bids and award a contract for the construction project if bids received remain within the project budget. FWP will finalize a management/maintenance agreement with Lewis and Clark County (the property lessee) to manage this property as a Fishing Access Site. Target construction date will be 2026.

Congratulations to Mike Taylor and Russ Robb (not pictured)! They are the recipients of the Craig Good Neighbors award for their efforts to maintain the Craig Cemetery, a beautiful resting place for those who once lived in this area. Both of these gentlemen have a history of involvement in helping this community.

Had a great time at Caddis Festival last weekend! Great to see everyone, sell some snow cones and lemonade and give away some stickers and koozies promoting our organization! Look forward to next year!

Lewis and Clark Day in Craig, Montana. Interesting stories and information were told by these reenactors who have extensively studied the journey of Lewis and Clark. This day being the anniversary of the day they would have passed through Craig.

Thanks to the efforts of Bill and Lanie Ryan, Lewis and Clark will be in Craig on July 19th in celebration of the day 221 years ago when they passed through what is now Craig.
Participants will be dressed in period clothes from 2 to 5 pm. Native Americans will bless the river and will be drumming.
Come visit Craig and join in the celebration with our community!
