Cabbage Lane Land Trust

Cabbage Lane Land Trust Cabbage Land Trust Cabbage Lane Land Trust is a women-owned trust that stewards 80 acres of mountain forest land that includes a deep canyon.

the land was first mined and then logged in the first half of the 20th century. Women began living on and caring for the land 30 years ago. It was one of the first pieces of women's land in Oregon. Today the forest has grown immensely, raising the canopy 50-60 feet. The land is still fragile and forever scarred as well as newly threatened from the logging on adjacent BLM land. But the lnd is stead

ily healing . It is home to owls, including the spotted owl, coyote, bear, many species of birds, yew trees, wild ginger and much more. A small creek floods in the winter and dries in the summer but springs high in the ridge run year round.

Yea "Cabbagers" ( Jemma, Raelun, Gail, Laura, Dana and Zarod) who worked on securing the culvert area on the road after heavy rains and logging trucks did damage.

There has now been logging on all sides of Cabbage Lane. It makes our little space even more sacred! This is a short video on the land to the left of our road. At least it was selective cutting and not a clear cut!

Tiles Available

Cabbage Lane has tiles available. You need to pick them up from the land and can arrange to do so by calling Ann Southcombe at 541-660-7675.
They are yours for free; a donation to the Cabbage Lane Land Trust would be appreciated. Tiles are ceramic and a mixture of white and white mottled with beige. Very nice.

There are two sizes: small, about 8" x 8" and large, about 12" x 12". The white are the smaller ones.
There are approximately 135 small and 265 large.

I was at Cabbage Lane yesterday to leave food for our latest resident, a squirrel named Feltworth. The human who found him as an orphaned had to re-release him. We chose Cabbage Lane as his new home. Since it is winter, I go there several times a week to leave food to help him during this time of less food to be found. Here are some wintery scenes, we got a small dusting of snow (I was hoping for more!) And a surprise Christmas tree for Feltworth that his Mom decorated a few days ago! It looks magical there!
