Nothing would make we historians and historical society members of Old Wolcott happier than to see YOU - the Butler, Huron, Rose, and Wolcott community members - at North Rose-Wolcott High School for the Old Wolcott Community Heritage Jubilee this Saturday, October 17, 2026 between 10 am and 3 pm!! We will be on hand, along with the following exhibitors to share lots of local history with you. This group of exhibitors are dedicated history enthusiasts. When you visit with them, you will walk away an enthusiast, too, and might find your self with a new interest or hobby!!

This is our final Old Wolcott Bicentennial event in celebration of our four towns' 200 years since Butler, Rose and Huron were set off from our parent town - Wolcott! It is fitting this closing celebration is at NRW High School, as it was that merger of the two school districts, North Rose and Wolcott, that steered the four town back together in support of all our children.

Local Photographers Wanted - to help document the final Old Wolcott Bicentennial Event coming up on Saturday, October 17th from 10am to 3pm at NRW High School - The Old Wolcott Community Heritage Jubilee!

If you like to take photos, enjoy meeting people, and experiencing local history with others, this is the event for you!!!

There will be a variety of exhibitors and local folks sharing history, our ancestors' heritage skills, music, and more . . .

Come anytime between 10 and 3 and stroll through the gym and small cafeteria. Enjoy some lunch provided by the NRW Booster Cub, and the revisit the exhibits to capture some new faces and new moments!

Even if you don't take pictures - bring your phone - you never know whom you might capture a moment with.

Join us for the Commemoration of the Pomeroy Sign to honor 2 Revolutionary Soldiers who are buried there, Tuesday, September 22, 6pm at the Old Wolcott Cemetery, on Lake Ave in the Wolcott village. Both Lambert Woodruff and Roger Olmstead settled here after the Revolutionary War, grew families and spent their lives in this community. There are some descendents still in the area.

Apple Peeling with the Guinness Book of World Records Holder Kathy Wafler Madison. Try your hand at apple peeling and enter your peel in a contest at Huron Day on September 12, 2026.

Kathy has held this record for nearly 50 years . . .
Since October 16, 1976, at and apple peeling contest at Long Ridge Mall in Rochester.
The peel length was 172 feet 4 inches - nearly half the length of an Olympic swimming pool.
It took Kathy 11 hours and 30 minutes to complete the peeling.
The apple weighed 20 ounces and was 18.5 inches in circumference.

Kathy will be doing peeling demonstrations from 9:30 to 10:30 am and 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Contest results will be announced at 1:00 pm.
