Our shawls are for women dealing with a serious medical diagnosis, their caretakers, individuals grieving the loss of a loved one, or anyone going through a traumatic time and could benefit from the comfort our shawls would provide. In essence, we would like to provide a "knitted hug" for those who need it most.

Shawls . . . made for centuries, universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditional love. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles.

Shawls from the Heart is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing knitted and crocheted shawls and blankets to women needing “wings to fly above their troubles.” Sometimes the strength to continue through a difficult time comes from nothing more than a kind word or friendly gesture and it is our hope that these shawls provide a tangible show of support for those who need it most.
