The Woburn Historical Society would like to congratulate the student winners of the art banner contest. With over 1,800 drawings submitted, the society chose 190 to be displayed on poles throughout downtown and 360 to be displayed in the rotunda at City Hall. If you got a late notification or if you were unable to come to the celebration on Saturday, you can pick up your child’s ribbon at the home of the society - The Burdett Mansion, 7 Mishawum Rd. Woburn on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday this week from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm., or on Saturday, June 20th from 10:00 am to Noon. The student artwork displayed in the rotunda will remain until June 22nd. Road Closures
From 9:30am – 1:30pm downtown traffic will be diverted for safety. Access to the library will be easiest from Harrison Avenue. The Common, including parts of Main Street, Pleasant Street, Common Street, and some surrounding streets will be closed for the hours of 9:30am-1:30pm, during flag ceremonies & student award distribution.

Please join us at this celebratory event between 12 noon and 2 pm at Woburn Common and the City Hall Rotunda for this special celebration honoring Woburn students whose artwork was selected from more than 1,800 entries submitted to the Woburn Historical Society through a community-wide project conducted in partnership with Woburn Public Schools and St. Charles School art teachers. Come admire their creativity and achievement as part of this memorable event.

Thank you Rotary Club of Woburn!

Rotary Club of Woburn donates defibrillator to Woburn Historical Society. Each year the Woburn Rotary club donates a defibrillator to a Woburn non-profit organization. Woburn Foundation Chair Bill Sullivan presents Woburn Historical Society's co-founder Kathy Lucero with the life-saving device.
The defibrillator will be housed at the Woburn Historical Society headquarters at the Burdett Mansion, 7 Mishawum Rd.
The society is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and their sixteenth year at the Burdett Mansion.

Our website has a new tab that will be publishing summaries of Leon Basile's book - A Union Town in the Civil War: Woburn, Massachusetts - Volume Two. The first Chapter of Volume Two, which is Chapter Five, is now available for reading here: https://www.woburnhistoricalsociety.com/general-5
