Proof of progress in the field! ��

After partnering on a major habitat enhancement project at Otey Mills Wildlife Refuge, TWRA and the NWTF set up trail cameras to see how wildlife responded. The results speak for themselves: wild turkeys and a wide variety of wildlife are actively using the restored habitat!

The project focused on clearing invasive species and conducting prescribed burns to boost native plants. Now, partners are taking it a step further by creating three adjacent forest conditions—oak savanna, oak woodland, and thinned forest—to provide ideal nesting and brooding grounds.
