Congratulations to Ann Smith, a new beekeeper, winner of the complete hive giveaway at our March meeting. She received a fully assembled deep hive and a hive top feeder from the High K**b Beekeepers Association, as well as some medium plastic foundation, a frame handler and other items compliments of All Indoor Farm Store in Norton. Ann has already made arrangements to purchase bees for her hive. Welcome to the world of beekeepers, Ann!

ATTENTION ALL ASPIRING BEEKEEPERS!!!!
Our first meeting of 2025 will feature AN INTRODUCTION TO BEEKEEPING. If you are interested in starting beekeeping in 2025, this is a must attend for you! Shane Mullins, a long time beekeeper from Big Stone Gap, will present an informative program that aspiring beekeepers need to see. And as a bonus, we will be GIVING AWAY A NEW COMPLETE SINGLE DEEP HIVE (just add bees) to a lucky person that has never kept bees but wants to start! This is approximately a $150 value, since the hive is assembled, painted, and the foundation has been waxed! The meeting is Tuesday March 11 at 6:30 at the Norton Community Center located at 201 Park Avenue NE in Norton (beside the middle school).

You will be given information on resources you can use to start you on your journey to beekeeping, and will also be able to pair up with an experienced beekeeper to mentor you in your endeavors if you so choose. Join us Tuesday February 11 at 6:30 p.m. for our first meeting of 2025. All meetings are open to the public and free of charge. Beekeepers and all interested in beekeeping are encouraged to attend. This is a good opportunity to learn about beekeeping and to network with others. Meeting is at the Norton Community Center located at 201 Park Avenue NE, Norton, VA adjacent to Norton Elementary and Middle School.
