Here is what we accomplished in 2025 - 88 quilts! (well, here’s 50 because that’s all I was allowed to upload in the reel 😊). We do usually average about 100 quilts per year. We need lots of hands to complete this much. Consider joining us!

Are you looking for a new hobby? Or a new group to join? Or a new charity mission to be a part of?

Caring Friends of Wise needs volunteers! We would love to have you join us on Monday mornings in the fellowship hall at Wise Baptist Church from 9:30-12:00. We make lap quilts for patients receiving chemotherapy at the Cancer Center in Norton.

🧵If you have a sewing machine and know how to use it, great! You can get started right away! (And some members of our group take kits and sew at home - just in case Monday mornings aren’t good for you)
🧵 If you have a sewing machine and don’t really know how to use it, we can teach you! There’s a wealth of sewing and quilting knowledge in our group!
🧵 If you don’t have a machine but you are willing to learn and help, there is a spot for you! There’s hand-hemming, pressing, pinning, sorting jobs for all skill levels.
🧵 If you’re not really interested but you know someone who might be, pass this along and encourage them to try something new!
🧵 And if you have good quality quilting cotton that you are ready to purge, contact us to see if it’s something we can use.

We have a lot of fun sewing and sewcializing together, and we would love to add some new faces!

Our bazaar will continue tomorrow, Oct. 9, from 10 - 2 at Wise Baptist Church during our morning sewing time. We still have lots of great items!!
All at great prices! Think ahead for gift-giving and support this worthy cause.

All proceeds go toward purchasing supplies needed to complete quilts for all chemotherapy patients at The Cancer Center in Norton, Va.

Caring Friends of Wise are working hard to create all kinds of amazing items for their 2023 Bazaar. This will be on Sunday, October 8 at Wise Baptist Church and will be available for purchase before and after church AND also on Monday, October 9 at the church.

Hello Friends!!

The Caring Friends of Wise are excited to announce their 2023 bazaar!!!

Just take a look at some of the fabulous homemade/hand crafted works of art these amazing ladies have been working on!! And there’s lots more to come!!!

This bazaar will take place at Wise Baptist Church on Sunday, October 8th and will be available for viewing/purchase before and after church AND on Monday morning October 9th.

By the day of the bazaar, there will be SO MUCH to choose from!!!

Listed below are some of the items you can look forward to seeing:

Quilts, table runners, wall hangings, placemats, bowl cozies, tea towels, pillowcases, cosmetic bags, zipper pouches, bag holders, fabric bowls, Christmas stockings, beaded jewelry, pin cushions, dish cloths! All crafted with all the love in the world!!!

Just to remind you what this amazing group of women do….(and I am honored to be amongst them)…

We make quilts for EVERY patient who has chemotherapy at the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center in Norton, Virginia. The group has made and donated over 1,000 quilts!!!

Watch for more posts with more pictures as the day draws closer. Also, feel free to be generous with your purchase. All items will be priced, but I want to encourage you to dig a little deeper in your pockets and give more.

ALL proceeds go toward purchasing supplies to make quilts for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy treatment at the Southwest Va Cancer Center.

These table runners feature the ”Courthouse Steps” quilt block in reds, tans and blues.
