Biron Firefighters Association Awarded $5,000 FM Fire Service Grant to Enhance Pre‑Incident Planning

The Biron Firefighters Association is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $5,000 Fire Service Grant from FM, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers. This grant directly supports our department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen pre‑incident planning and improve community safety.

Fire remains the leading cause of property damage worldwide, and for nearly 50 years FM has invested millions into helping fire service organizations around the globe reduce risk and enhance preparedness.

“At FM, we strongly believe the majority of property damage is preventable, not inevitable,” said Michael Spaziani, assistant vice president and manager of the Fire Service Grant Program. “With additional financial support, grant recipients are actively helping to improve property risk in the communities they serve.”

FM’s Fire Service Grant Program provides funding to departments and organizations that demonstrate clear community impact and preparedness needs. This support will help the Biron Fire Department improve emergency response readiness, increase safety, and strengthen resilience across our community.

The Biron Firefighters Association is coming together with Wisconsin Rapids Fire Dept in support of our former Fire Chief, Dave Kerkman, who has been diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma.

To assist him and his family during this challenging time, we are coordinating a fundraiser shirt campaign. Proceeds from all shirt sales will go directly toward supporting his medical and personal needs.
