Happy Monday Everyone! ⭐
Today we want to remind everyone to not follow where the path may lead, but instead go where there is no path and leave a trail.

Happy Monday Everyone!
You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this. ⭐

On today’s episode of Training Tuesday, I want to bring up the topic of fun! If you’re anything like me, it’s easy to slip into a routine of only the serious stuff. Unfortunately, that can be detrimental because our horses can easily become bored. In this video, I walk over to the corner arena after flatting the lovely Kash. Not only did he enjoy this, but the cuteness made my day! What are some fun things you do with your horse?

Huxley is known for her love, training and showing of thoroughbreds hence She got a call from a former client with a boarder & 8-yr-old Thoroughbred who had been off the track for 3 yrs. Huxley was told this horse was unruly, not rideable, and too big for the current owner to handle. The owner would give the horse away, but if she couldn’t find a home for him, she would have to consider putting him down.
Huxley & Heather had been talking about the terrible fact that about 10,000 retired racehorses go to slaughter each year and what could WE do to help lower that statistic?
How amazing if all retired racehorses were given a chance to be rehabilitated, retrained & rehomed. These horses give their whole heart to racing, shouldn’t they receive the same in return? Instead, the thanks that many of them get are beyond the definition of inhumane. -
We took that call with no plan, but with resolve that this horse would not become a statistic. We met a horse that was scared and unsure of himself, his surroundings and his future. Huxley lunged him and we knew immediately he was trying his best to do what was asked. He was off balance & uncertain, but his eyes expressed hope, gentleness and a desire to work. We knew nothing about his medical history, but his coggins was clear and on 8/22/18, we paid $1.00 for him and started our new journey. -
He easily trailered, settled in nicely with us and his new herd and we scheduled a full veterinarian and farrier exam. While we waited for clearance to start work with him, we spent time helping him get to know us; doing our best to communicate that he could trust us and that he would always be safe and loved in our care.
We are very excited to share the progress of this special horse with you and would be honored if you joined us.
Welcome to our story. Welcome to our journey.
Meet our Founding Horse, Traveler. -
It starts with a thought, then it becomes a dream, then a passion and a way of life…if you let it. Our dream, passion and way of life is to provide all retired racehorses a chance at a New Life.
