🎉 Meet Bailey Dudley and Family! 🎉

Last up this week, and completing our "meet the Buccaneer Boosters" highlight is our Secretary Bailey Dudley!

She enjoys harassing her fellow board members for family pictures and trying her best to get membership letters out on time! 😅 ...

1. Tell us about your family!
My husband, Travis and I have two girls!
Adrie (Class of 26') and Emma (Class of 29')!!

2. How long have you been part of the Booster Club?
I believe I'm the newest member.... this is about my 4th year??

3. What is your favorite part about EB?
I love the support I see in our school community. It might be as simple as giving a kid a ride home, or as huge as getting a fundraiser going for family in need. Bucs take care of each other!

4. Why would you encourage others to join the Booster Club?
It really provides a whole new perspective on what funds are truly available (or lack there of)! I had NO idea how expensive balls are! There is no way our students will have the same resources, musical instruments, and safety equipment (just to name a few) without a strong booster club! Help us keep up the momentum and join us at our next meeting, 2nd Wednesday of every month !!

🎉 Meet Brian Kelcehn & family! 🎉

We are fortunate to have Brian Kelchen leading the way as President of our Buccaneer Boosters. Brian is a dedicated supporter of East Buchanan students and activities and is always willing to lend a hand wherever it's needed. He can often be found with camera in hand capturing amazing photos of our Buc activities, which we proudly plaigerize for our own marketing purposes. Thanks Brian!! 📸😜

While the rest of us may occasionally get distracted by the next big idea, Brian ensures our to-do lists actually get checked off! He provides the structure and leadership that help turn those ideas into reality. Thanks for all you do Brian! ❤💙👏

Q: Tell us about your family!
I am married to Erin, and we have three daughters.
Brooklyn – Class of 2025 graduate
Macy – Class of 2026 graduate
Kennedy – Currently in 7th grade

Q: How long have you been invovled with Boosters?
Since 2019. Are we supposed to be counting??

Q: What do you love about East Buchanan?
My favorite thing about East Buchanan is how the community supports one another. Whether it's athletics, fine arts, academics, or community events, people consistently show up to encourage and support our students and families.

Q: What Would You Say to Someone Considering Joining the Buccaneer Boosters?
I would encourage anyone to join the Booster Club because we get the opportunity to support all students participating in both fine arts and athletics. It's a rewarding way to give back, make a difference, and help create opportunities for all of our Buccaneers!

🎉 Meet Stephanie Short & family! 🎉

Have you seen something different from the Boosters over the last few years and thought, "What a fun idea!"? There's a good chance Stephanie Short had something to do with it!! As our Vice President, Stephanie brings creativity, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas to everything she touches. She's always looking for new ways to make our events more engaging and memorable! Since she's not already busy enough 😉 she has taken on the role of Speech Coach at East Buchanan for the upcoming school year!! 👏🏻

Q. Tell us about your kids!
Stephanie and her husband are proud parents of three Buccaneers:
Aubrey – Class of 2028
Ethan – Class of 2031
Liam – Class of 2032

Their family stays busy with just about every activity East Buchanan has to offer, including choir, band, musicals, plays, speech, cheerleading, football, basketball, and wrestling!

Q. Why do you love being part of the Buccaneer Boosters?
We have helped raise well over $100,000 at our annual gala to support East Buchanan students, activities, and programs! I love that we are here to support all of our Buccaneers dreams!

Q. What would you say to someone considering joining the Buccaneer Boosters?
JUMP IN! With my new adventure as our Speech Coach, I won't be able to do as much with the Gala, but it's such an important event! We need more help! I'm excited to welcome new faces and ideas to help with Boosters AND Gala prep!

🎉 Meet Jessica Cook & family! 🎉

Jess is a proud East Buchanan grad representing the Class of 1998! She is our Co-Treasurer/Bookeeper/resident accountant, and also runs our concessions stands! (SIDE NOTE!! Did you know that was part of the Booster Club responsibilities!?!🤯)
Behind the scenes, she spends countless hours organizing volunteers, stocking supplies, coordinating schedules, and making sure the stands are ready to serve fans all season long. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication, and Jessica helps make game days and school events a success for everyone!

We appreciate Jess for her positivity and are in constant awe of her giving nature! If you have been at the Gala the last two years, you know this lady can cook, not to mention her food-coma inducing desserts! She does all of this even though her last two kiddos walked across the East Buc stage over 4 years ago! Please don't ever leave us Jess! 🙏

Here is a little more about her and what she has to say about EB!

Q: Tell us about your kids!

A: EB pride runs deep in Jessica's family! Emma graduated in 2021, attended Capri College, and is now a licensed nail technician. Aiden and Abby graduated in 2022. Aiden attended Hawkeye Community College and works for Patrick Cook Framing & Construction. Abby graduated from UNI with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Mental Health and now leads fitness classes at assisted living facilities throughout the Cedar Valley.

Q: How long have you been involved with the Booster Club?

A: 8–9 years!? Who's counting?!

Q: What do you love about East Buchanan?

A: The small class sizes, endless opportunities for students to get involved, and the incredible community spirit of Buc Nation.

Q: What would you say to someone considering joining the Buccaneer Boosters?

A: Come check out a meeting! I believe the more people who share ideas and work together, the more amazing experiences and opportunities we can create for EB students. We are always looking for new faces, fresh ideas, and community support!

Meet the Buc Boosters board!!! This week we are going to highlight our Buccaneer Boosters board! Get to know us, put some faces with names, and let us know if you have any questions!

🎉 Meet Abbey Thurn and Family! 🎉

Abbey and family are true Buc supporters, with four children who have been involved in just about every activity East Buchanan has to offer. From athletics and fine arts to speech and band, the Thurn family has embraced the many opportunities available to Buc students!!

Abbey currently serves as our Treasurer! We are so thankful to have someone with so much passion for our school, kids, and community on our board!!

1. What do/did your very own Buccaneers participate in?
Isabel (Class of 21') – Dance team, art, plays, and speech.
Tanner (Class of 24') – Football, wrestling, track, and baseball.
Evelyn (Class of 28') – Volleyball and is on the dance team.
Teagan (Class of 33') – Every sport possible and also plays trombone in band.

2. How long have you been part of the Booster Club?
Long enough that Abbey has lost track of the exact year she joined! 😊

3. What is your favorite part about EB?
The opportunities our students have to grow academically, athletically, and artistically!

4. Why would you encourage others to join the Booster Club?
Join the Buc Boosters to help elevate the athletic and artistic experiences of our students!
